In terms of exciting matches to watch, today will hold the most explosive games that will spiral out of control quickly or turn into a slugfest for every single match. ?

Betting Predictions for Sunday July 22

Optic Gaming vs Cloud9

12pm PST / 3pm EST

In order to even be considered for playoffs, Cloud9 and Optic need to find their consistent path. Both of these teams have been struggling with their team identity, whether it be roster changes or win conditions, and have yet to completely wow onlookers with their subsequent matches.

The question becomes whether or not PoE or Arrow can pop off enough to match the powerful duo of Jensen and Sneaky. For PoE, that is a very possible route but for Arrow, divine intervention may be required. Whether the support is Zeyzal or Smoothie, both will tend to outrank either of OPT’s supports. Licorice should also have a cakewalk in the toplane as both of OPT’s top laners are average at best, but the jungle difference in terms of consistency will be called into question should C9 use their academy jungler.

Betting prediction:Cloud9 to win, paying -277.78 at BetOnline.

FlyQuest vs 100 Thieves

1pm PST / 4pm EST

The mid-tier FlyQuest will take on the top tier Thieves, although both teams are very close in standing should one look at their records. And boy, this game will either have a very smooth progression of events or look like hot garbage.

The reason for such a prediction is because FLY is a very ‘under the radar’ team, without a solid win condition and basically muddling their way through with whatever comes onto their plate. If Keane gets ahead, they will ride the Keane train and if WildTurtle springs forward, the Turtle Express is their next stop. Statistic wise, FLY isn’t the most pronounced team in any mean compared to 100T. However, 100T has just traded Meteos for AndA and will have to continue synergizing with their new early game pressure point. Not only is synergy called into question, should the Thieves continue to experiment with their roster, results may be incredibly mixed. However, fundamentally 100T have a great advantage when it comes to powerful laners in the current meta in Cody Sun and Ssumday.

Betting prediction:100 Thieves (ONLY if Cody Sun plays) to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid vs CounterLogic Gaming

2pm PST / 5pm EST

Perhaps the largest game of the day, a lot of LCS veterans and high caliber players will peak off in the middle game of the day. One of these titans will fall in a game surely to divide any fan of the NA LCS.

To put it simply, TL have an advantage in the bottom lane, toplane and midlane while CLG have an advantage in the jungle. It is a heavy advantage and although it looks the game is incredibly TL favored, CLG’s Reignover is the saving grace. TL’s games are short and sweet, snowballing quickly either way. If Reignover can pull off his consistent style to get his laners ahead, there is a good chance for CLG to delay the game enough for Stixxay and Huhi to scale. Against their counteparts and left to their own devices however, one can expect a TL snowball out of this world.

Betting prediction:Team Liquid to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

Golden Guardians vs Echo Fox

4pm PST / 7pm EST

I hope we are all prepared for fireworks as this last game is going to be a clown fiesta, hands down. The middle game may have been the most hype in terms of competitiveness but this last game takes the cake for anything dumb, inspiring and overall a chaotic potluck.

Echo Fox were the first to start swapping Huni literally anywhere on the map and start the chaos style FOX is known for. Dardoch has followed suit, holding marksmen and carry champions in his back pocket to back up Huni’s shenanigans. All the while the rest of FOX are left to play around and avoid the top side pressure that is surely to come from all the unorthodox picks. GGs have implemented a funnel composition, a standard composition, a top carry composition, anything you want. As a result, they have earned themselves multiple upsets and are finally looking like a team with synergy and a ‘consistent’ playstyle. Nothing will be easy to call in this game as the slightest lead can turn 180 degrees in a second, and as a result the match will be a wonder to watch.

Betting prediction:Golden Guardians to win, paying +162 at BetOnline.

Clutch Gaming vs Team Solomid

3pm PST / 6pm PST

Both CG and TSM have had their ups and downs this season, ending week 4 at the middle of the pack at 4-4 apiece. While TSM are the through and through laners at heart, CG have tried to innovate to mixed success. This match will be whether or not CG decide to outplay TSM at their own game or to pull off a feisty composition to create a new playing field.

TSM still rely on Zven and Mithy in the botlane to hold the team afloat with Bjergsen having a surprisingly average time in the midlane. TSM’s early game is stable enough but when it comes to having the correct compositional rotations and teamfighting prowess, they fall quite short. That is in contrast with CG’s memo where they boast decent teamfighting statistics (barring Solo) with both Febiven and Apollo as dual carries. If Darshan can exploit Solo’s inability to judge the map pressure, which is quite possible, TSM will have an additional win condition in the split push as well. However, the true contest is the Grig vs LirA early game contest and which jungler has more early game pressure.

Betting prediction:Clutch Gaming to win, paying +120 at BetOnline.

]]>
Starting Week 5, most teams are in contention with a few other teams for their positions. Team Liquid, 100 Thieves, CounterLogic Gaming and Echo Fox crowd the first place spot. Clutch Gaming, FlyQuest, Team SoloMid and Golden Guardians hover the 5-8th place spots while Cloud9 and Optic Gaming bring up the bottom tier. This trend will most likely be continuing until Week 7 or 8 where most teams will begin solidifying their playoff spots.

In North America, the prevalence of upsets is huge. Using last season’s standings are reference, over half of the matches involving a clearly higher place team versing a clearly lower place team ends up in an ‘upset’. Golden Guardians and FlyQuest are the main culprits of these upsets, with CounterLogic Gaming, formerly 7th, now standing at one of the 1st place spots.?

Betting Predictions for Saturday June 21

Echo Fox vs 100 Thieves

2pm PST / 5pm EST

Rick Fox and the Foxes try to nab a win off Nadeshot’s Thieves in the first match of the day. At the beginning of this game, both teams stand at a 5-3 record. This will be a battle of map divisions and jungler focus with two very different playstyles.

Perhaps the most damning statistic is the KP%. Most on FOX sport high 60 to 70 KP% while the 100T hover from low 60 to barely cresting 70. This may seem small but the extra team playing kill can turn into a powerful rotation for FOX. FOX will be calling on their top jungle duo in Huni and Dardoch to carry the game, but the two players have not been able to consistently make a strong showing in the early game. The midgame is where they start to pop off, and against 100T, that is a dangerous prospect considering their game is basically decided upon how fed Cody Sun is. HOWEVER, this week Cody Sun has started for the academy team….which may bode ill for their matchups this week. Although Ssumday has provided a secondary win condition to 100T, making the top lane the primary win lane may not be in 100T’s best synergistic decision.

Betting prediction:Echo Fox (regardless if Cody Sun plays) to win, paying -120.48 at BetOnline.

Cloud9 vs Team Liquid

3pm PST / 6pm PST

The big yikes from Twitch was warranted after C9’s brutal 2-6 start to the season. Unfortunately for the boys in blue, they get to tussle with TL, who remains one of the top favorites to win Summer 2018.

As much as fans would love to support C9, it has been revealed that Svenskeren is being subbed out for who is predicted to be Blaber from C9A. And although the duo of Jensen and Sneaky are back, jungle presence in the early game is incredibly important. Overall, C9 have a more shaky foundation due to team synergy because of the constant roster changes. Against TL, who have cemented their win conditions with Pobelter and Doublelift’s excellent KDA and KP% over the past seasons, C9 needs to pull off some miraculous things to win this matchup.

Betting prediction:Team Liquid to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

Team SoloMid vs Optic Gaming

4pm PST / 7pm EST

After a decent start, Optic has fallen to one of the lower teams due to their inability to progress into the midgame and close out. TSM on the other hand have had mixed success running their standard, orthodox laning builds from last season. However, when these two teams clash, the predicted outcome is quite clear.

OPT will need divine assistance and quite a bit of it. Again, PowerOfEvil remains the shining laner in the game, boasting the highest KDA, KP% and a myriad of other stats. He remains the crux of the team while OPT struggles to find a consistent top and support player. And when a team plays with a shaky support, that directly affects the ADC, in this case Arrow. With weak lanes top and bot, Akaadian has no choice but to try and snowball mid…against the king himself, Bjergsen. TSM has a very win lane win game style for the longest time, and this season Zven is cementing himself as a very powerful win condition. When it comes to solo lane prowess, TSM is very difficult to beat and will have to be dismantled using unconventional strategies or superior teamfighting. Both of which OPT seem to lack.

Betting prediction:Team SoloMid to win, paying -357.14 at BetOnline.

Golden Guardians vs CounterLogic Gaming

5pm PST / 8pm EST

What a comeback the Guardians have made, standing one game behind CLG with a nice 4-4 record. The former last place team, the joke of the LCS have now made a name for themselves and aim to win against last week’s top NA Fantasy LoL performers.

The two teams have very similar win conditions; feed CLG Stixxay and feed GGs Deftly. Although Huhi and Mickey are definitely in the upper eschelon of mid laners, the primary carry for both these teams will be the ADC battle. Each matchup on the team is so similar in almost every respect – top lane with lowest KP% on each team but geared towards carry split push, junglers with super heavy support based kits and KDA, support with KDA and KP%. In every respect, CLG barely outedges each of their countepartes. Another factor will be how fast GGs can push their lead, as CLG will more than likely win should the game hit past 35 or 40 minutes in.

Betting prediction:CounterLogic Gaming to win, paying -200 at BetOnline.

FlyQuest vs Clutch Gaming

5pm PST / 8pm EST

Ending the game will be two of the 4-4 teams deciding which one moves up in standings and which moves down. Last week FLY upset the prominent TL to everybody’s surprise while CG looked incredibly unclean at best in their matches.

The most surprising thing about FLY is that their win condition is very convoluted. Their statistics do not point towards significantly towards Keane nor Wildturtle but both remain an important piece to the puzzle called winning. Santorin and Flame are average players for their roles from past performances, with the main standout being JayJ from support. The only thing that can be surely said is that if Santorin gets shut down, FLY gets shut down due to early game activity. CG, despite their consistent showings early on, have only managed a 4-4 record. Febiven and Apollo remain the standout performers with Hakuho supporting them well. LirA has also had a…mediocre showing, neither good nor bad, with Solo being the weak link when it comes to rotational and teamfighting play. Despite their similar records, CG has a more consistent and well rounded roster than FLY.

Betting prediction:Clutch Gaming to win, paying -138.89 at BetOnline.

North America will resume its exciting and unorthodox matches after waiting two weeks for Rift Rivals to conclude. Unfortunately for the three teams attending the international tournament, North America was not able to triumph against Europe. In addition, the region has had multiple weaknesses exposed at Rift Rivals, including funnel composition defenses, Heimerdinger and Aatrox picks and overall team flexibility.

Today’s matches will have very predictable winners, but the possibility for an upset has been significantly higher this patch than others. Cloud9, one of the long standing titans of League, will have to patch themselves together to even be considered competitive. Meanwhile, a four way tie for first place will hopefully be broken by the end of todays matches.

Betting Predictions for Saturday June 14

Echo Fox vs CounterLogic Gaming

2pm PST / 5pm EST

One of the teams that attended Rift Rivals, FOX try to take down the early game centric CLG in the first bout of the day. FOX stands at a 4-2 record, tied for first while CLG sits in the middle of the pack at 3-3.

When it comes to the early game, CLG has it made. Reignover is quite active roaming the map making plays and dropping wards while Huhi and Stixxay play conservatively, aiming to scale for late. Echo Fox has not had the best showing from Dardoch in the early game, nor Huni for that matter. FOX tend to draft their champions towards the midgame powerspike, including picks such as Irelia, Renekton and the such. The question becomes whether and FOX lane can accelerate the rate of the game to throw CLG off their game.

Betting prediction: Echo Fox to win, paying -163.93 at BetOnline.

100 Thieves vs Team SoloMid

3pm PST / 6pm EST

The Thieves have made their dangerous trade of Meteos for Anda, but have started Brandini and Levi at Rift Rivals. TSM has not strayed far from their standard roster, utilizing Grig instead of MikeYeung. Despite their records, each teams’ playstyle will be heavily affected by such changes.

Funnel the Cody Sun was a great tactic that 100T implemented with much success domestically. Unfortunately, against EU, they were not able to replicate their previous victories. TSM on the other hand has always had a more calm and muddle through playstyle, piggybacking off Zven’s fantastic performances and Bjergsen’s consistency. The biggest change has to be Anda and his ability to gel with the rest of 100T. The new junglers will literally make or break the game, so whichever team gets rolling from the fog of war is the likelier one to win.

Betting prediction: Team SoloMid to win, paying -163.93 at BetOnline.

Clutch Gaming vs Golden Guardians

4pm PST / 7pm EST

After a great beginning from the Guardians, they have regressed backwards in the past week to fail significantly against some easy matchups. Clutch on the other hand have shown that they are possibly one of the most flexible teams considering the current patch and meta and will continue to do so.

GGs have tried multiple strategies. Standard, funnel Deftly, funnel Contractz and the kitchen sink. Sadly, they have been met with limited success on each strategy. Matt has improved since his showing last season while Mickey has accumulated a significantly average statline for his debut season. The team itself needs more coherent shotcalling and direction to progress in the state of the game. CG have not changed their roster and look incredibly powerful. Even in their losses, their ability to keep the game competitive looks promising, and with this match, an easy win is forecasted.

Betting prediction: Clutch Gaming to win, paying -250 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid vs Optic Gaming

5pm PST / 8pm EST

Another matchup that looks quite grim, the heavy favorite in this matchup is obvious. TL sits atop the throne at 4-2 with OPT at the reverse record at 2-4. Whether or not these teams will be able to make a competitive game relies heavily on OPT’s ability to step up to the plate in every lane other than mid.

What was a great start for Allorim turned our in the third week of LCS after he was continually exploited and decimated. PoE in the midlane still holds the beacon of consistency and central playmaking for OPT, but Arrow and Big absolutely have to step up against Doublelift and Olleh. Even if PoE is able to shake Pobelter, the amount of talent TL has is incredibly high.

Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win, paying -500 at BetOnline.

Cloud9 vs FlyQuest

6pm PST / 9pm EST

Two weeks ago, everybody would have said this was an easy win for C9. Now, C9 sits at last place with FLY is ranked above them. The greatest part is that even though both teams are nearly last place, this game will prove to be a fiesta in its own accord.

C9 has made substitutions in Keith and Zeyzal for Jensen and Smoothie. This has proven positive for the most part as Jensen still performs at a high level, but putting Goldenglue in the botlane has mixed effects for the ADC position. Svenskeren and Licorice used to be the pillars that held up C9 when Keith, Zeyzal and GG subbed in but now there have regressed to being average players at their lanes. FLY has had a decent showing from Keane in the midlane, a standard showing from Flame in the toplane and overall a…mediocre showing from everywhere else. Although C9 have yet to find their synergy, FLY has also struggled to turn their leads into a large advantage, and with Meteos competing with Santorin, the pressure is on.

Betting prediction:Cloud9 to win, paying -200 at BetOnline.

Rift Rivals was originally created to help spur competitive lines across regions, to develop a higher sense of community and competitiveness during the midseason between MSI and the World Championships. Over time, the tournament has held criticism on its purpose and benefits – the tournament itself is placed awkwardly during the beginning of most Summer splits, has a very shallow winning pool and causes teams that participate to forego up to two weeks of training. That being said, some good has come out of Rift Rivals including increased viewership between international teams, international testing for those teams participating and a break from the regular season stress.

There will be 5 regions, each with their own set of teams and rules for Rift Rivals.

Region one: NA LCS (North America) vs EU LCS (Europe)
NA LCS: Team Liquid, 100 Thieves, Echo Fox
EU LCS: Fnatic, G2 Esports, Splyce

Region two: LPL (China) vs LCK (Korea) vs LMS (Taiwan)
LPL: Invictus Gaming, Edward Gaming, Royal Never Give Up, Rogue Warriors
LCK: Kingzone DragonX, Afreeca Freecs, kt Rolster, SKT Telecom T1
LMS: Flash Wolves, G-Rex, Machi Esports, MAD Team

Region three: SEA (Southeast Asia) vs LJL (Japan) vs OPL (Oceania)
SEA: Ascension Gaming, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Mineski
LJL: PENTAGRAM, DetonatioN FocusMe, Unsold Stuff Gaming
OPL: Dire Wolves, The Chiefs, Legacy

Region four: LLN (Latin America North) vs LLS (Latin America South) vs CBLOL (Brazil)
LLN: Rainbow7, Infinity eSports
LLS: Kaos Latin Gamers, Rebirth eSports
CBLOL: Kabum! e-Sports, Vivo Keyd

Region five: LCL (Russia) vs TCL (Turkey) vs VCS (Vietnam)

TCL: Bahceshir SuperMassive, Royal Bandits, Beykentuni YouthCREW
VCS: EVOS Esports, GIGABYTE Marines, Vikings Gaming

As stated before, each regions will have its own set of rules governing each individual regional tournament. The past Rift Rivals have had the a $20,00 USD prize pool for each of the winning teams for the major regions (NA vs EU, LPL vs LCK vs LMS) with an undisclosed amount for the non-major regions. They will also be playing for regional trophies embedded with the regions’ colors and team icon.

Predictions for Rift rivals 2018

NA LCS vs EU LCS

NA LCS vs EU LCS

Each team in a region will participate in a single round robin against each team in the opposing region, with the stronger region being announced at the end of two days of play ins. At the end of the round robin stage, the stronger region will have the ability to counterpick the first three matches of a best of five series. The last two matches will be blind pick, meaning teams for both sides will be decided simultaneously. Each team for each side will play at least once in the Bo5.

North America has historically won in last years RR, but this year looks to be more of the same. G2, FNC, and Splyce represent the EU teams, and out of those teams, the most stable team looks to be G2. FNC is high in standing but has had synergistic issues with Rekkles on this patch while Splyce is simply struggling. Team Liquid for NA is a strong team but not without faults and the same can be said of 100 Thieves and Echo Fox, but all three teams are tied for first in the NA LCS. With EU still trying to find its groove, NA clearly has the edge in this chaotic meta.

Betting prediction: NA LCS to win at BetOnline.

LPL vs LCK vs LMS

LPL vs LCK vs LMS

Perhaps the most hyped matchup in RR, China vs Korea vs Taiwan will bring a lot of spice to the LoL scene. The format for the tournament is quite different between the regions as there are four teams for each league competing. Each team will play their respective seeded team (1st place LCK vs 1st place LMS vs 1st place LPL) based on last split’s results. At the end, the regions will be seeded in strength from the results of those matches. The first place, strongest team receives a buy into the finals while the 2nd and 3rd place team play a best of five for the semifinals. Each team will play a minimum of one game with neither side having a counterpick. The same rules apply for the Finals.

The rankings for each region is generally LCK > LPL > LMS. In this case, it is very likely that will remain the case. The LMS have the Flash Wolves, a very renowned team for defeating strong opponents, but the rest of the LMS teams may not have the international experience or skill to compete against the best from China and Korea. Korea has the all powerful kt Rolster and Kingzone DragonX, with a struggling Afreeca Freecs and SKT Telecom T1 at the rear. China has the MSI winning Royal Never Give Up, an internationally recognized Edward Gaming and the high, regular season ranking Rogue Warrios and Invictus Gaming. When history comes to pass, it is Korea that holds the most consistency and the highest skill in international tournaments.

Betting prediction: 1st LCK, 2nd LPL, 3rd LMS at BetOnline.

SEA vs LJL vs OPL

SEA vs LJL vs OPL

Each region will play a single Round Robin against the other teams in each region, with the lowest ranked teams from each region evidently not meeting on the rift. After the matches, the top two regions will square off in a best of five with a blind relay, meaning that no counterpicks will be had for either side.

SEA has since had the removal of the Vietnamese teams from its roster, bringing the power of the regions down significantly. In addition, despite the recognizable names from the OCE, they actually placed last in last years Rift Rivals. This by default gives Japan the heavy favorites to win this year’s tournament. Although PENTAGRAM from the LJL had a horrible showing at MSI, Ascension Gaming from SEA did not fair better. The most damning piece of information is that the LJL’s top seed is not PENTAGRAM but rather DetonatioN FocusMe, which may speak to the LJL’s hidden strength.

Betting prediction: 1st LJL, 2nd OCE, 3rd SEA at BetOnline.

LLN vs CLS vs CBLOL

LLN vs CLS vs CBLOL

Latin Americas square off while throwing Brazil into the mix in this region’s clash. Teams from each region will play teams from each other region once, with rankings determined after that round. The semifinals will take place between the 2nd and 3rd place teams in a similar format, with each team from a region playing the opposing region’s teams once. This will result in 4 games, with a region needing 3 wins to advance. If a 5th game is needed, the regions will respectively decide which team plays the 5th game. The Finals follow the same format as the semifinals.

Historically, Brazil has led the charge followed by LAN and then LAS. However, this year’s teams in the LAN include the infamous Rainbow7 with their strong domestic presence. Kabum! from Brazil made their way in 2014 and completely shocked the world with their international performance, but ever since Brazil has not had the benefit of high international showings. LAS may have a tall mountain to climb to try and win this regions trophy and bragging rights, as Kaos Latin Gamers finished behind the other regions at MSI.

Betting prediction: 1st LLN, 2nd CBLOL, 3rd CLS at BetOnline.

VCS vs TCL vs LCL

VCS vs TCL vs LCL

Each of these regions have had an immense international showing with specific teams. The format will consist of each team playing the other regions’ teams once in a single round robin. Afterwards, the 2nd and 3rd place team will play a ‘King of the Hill’ matchup, where the 3rd seed from each region will face off in a best of one. The winner will vs the 2nd seed from the losing region and eventually advance up the ladder until one side claims three wins. The finals is a bit more simple – a best of five with the 1st place region getting team counterpick for the first three games. The last two games, if needed, will be a blind pick without counterpick.

The clear favorites here are the VCS. Through repeated international performances that exceeded anybody’s expectation, Vietnam has been made into its own region. Not to say that Turkey and Russia have been completely outdone, as SuperMassive and Gambit Gaming are well known teams in the community, but Vietnam is simply on another level. When it comes to the TCL vs the LCL, both teams flunked out at the same time in MSI, but SuperMassive has a much better lineup when it comes to flexibility and skill.

Betting prediction: 1st VCS, 2nd TCL, 3rd LCL at BetOnline.

]]>
As expected of the NA LCS, Team Liquid and 100 Thieves are heading the top of the standings after Week 2 at a 3-1 record apiece. Following the top place teams is a 6 way tie for third place with Cloud9 and FlyQuest bringing up the rear as the last two teams in the league. With such a good start for TL and 100T couple with the fact that their strong last season finish has earned them a decent amount of Championship Points, both teams are in a great position to solidify their Worlds debut in the coming fall.

Some shocking standings that need to be noted are the Golden Guardians with a 2-2 record considering their small roster change and the Cloud9 fall from grace with a 1-3 record with Sneaky, Smoothie and Jensen still sitting on the bench. Echo Fox’s last minute substitution of Feng for Adrian caused FOX to lose a ban and lose against OPT. Allorim has taken over for Dhokla on OPT and has looked great ever since, even in their loss. ?

Betting Predictions for Saturday June 30

Cloud9 vs Team SoloMid

Cloud9 vs Team SoloMid
2pm PST / 5pm EST

Cloud9 has many issues coming into this week and have to face a struggling TSM on the other end of the rift. As Twitch chat so promptly exclaimed “#NotOurC9”, the substitutes of Goldenglue, Keith and Zeyzal have not had much success on the competitive scene. TSM on the other hand have yet to find a stable jungler between MikeYeung and Grig and have to continue building communication in the early game between mid, top and jungle.

Should C9 continue on their current course with the same roster, this match will end as most would expect; a TSM victory. If C9 makes a substitution of either Sneaky or Jensen and Smoothie for Keith and Zeyzal, C9 have a much better chance at triumphing over TSM. Licorice should be able to handle Hauntzer in the top lane with Svenskeren safely jungling and tracking either Grig or MikeYeung. Goldenglue has looke great as of late and can match the contested king of midlane Bjergsen.

*If C9 makes a substitution of their botlane, Cloud9 will be predicted to win*
Betting prediction: Team SoloMid to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid vs Echo Fox

Team Liquid vs Echo Fox
3pm PST / 6pm EST

A team sticking to their guns by playing standard in this chaotic meta will be squaring off against the Huni show in the second match of the day. As much as Team Liquid show promise, they have to ensure that they can successfully outwit and outplay FOX in every facet of the early game or FOX will take the lead and storm away with it.

The map will be split into two halves horizontally – FOX controlling the top while TL controlling the bot. Basically, whoever gets further ahead will win between Huni and Doublelift. Although TL also have a very decent carry in Pobelter as well, Huni has been known to venture outside his lane and play unconventional picks in order to further his lead. In this patch, getting the bottom lane ahead in a traditional ADC and Support matchup may not be enough to win the game. Although Doublelift has shown the propensity to play other picks than ADC, putting the pressure on him to carry on an off champion is difficult at best for TL.

Betting prediction: Echo Fox to win, paying +125 at BetOnline.
?

100 Thieves vs Clutch Gaming

4pm PST / 7pm EST

Yet another very close matchup, 100T face off against CG, both teams standing at a 2-2 record. Last season, both these teams were at each others throats during playoffs with 100T earning their second place spot. In this matchup, the power rankings are as close as ever.

Ssumday and Solo are both players that have trended towards the high carry, high damage top laners such as Darius and Aatrox. When it comes to matchups, the top lane will be heavily influenced by Meteos and LirA, both of which have also have mixed results when jungling. In the midlane, Febiven versus Ryu should go to Febiven most of the time, with the duo lane of Cody Sun/Aphromoo being able to outclass Apollo/Hakuho. Historically, both teams have been able to shave off wins off each other, but CG will be a bit more favored with the midlane matchup being decently in CG’s favor. And with midlane control comes mapwide pressure, something that 100T have lost too in the past by being multiman ganked without contest.

Betting prediction: Clutch Gaming to win, paying +110 at BetOnline.

FlyQuest vs Golden Guardians

FlyQuest vs Golden Guardians
5pm PST / 8pm EST

Oh the hyped FlyQuest versus the now hyped Golden Guardians. Needless to say, the GGs have been looking great as of late while FLY still struggle with the first 15 minutes of the match, usually falling behind in most lanes and as a result, most objectives.

Mickey has proven to be a stable swap for Hai, with Contractz and Deftly carrying the heck out of teamfights and funneling comps. Lourlo is still playing very consistently with Matt shaping up his game since last split. Flame and Keane are the silver lining for FLY, but Keane is inconsistent at best, being able to go full throttle to smash his laner or into his own grave. WildTurtle and Kwon have not yet synergized fully with Santorin struggling in the jungle due to team communication. This match should be an open and shut case.

Betting prediction: Golden Guardians to win, paying -125 at BetOnline.

Optic Gaming vs CounterLogic Gaming

Optic Gaming vs CounterLogic Gaming
6pm PST / 9pm EST

Before, if OPT still played Dhokla, the favored team would have undoubtedly been CLG. Now, with OPT shoring up their weaknesses, the matchup becomes a bit more balanced.

CLG’s Darshan has been improving his play, but against OPT Allorim, it may prove difficult for CLG to emphasize an Aatrox or Camille split push. PowerOfEvil should have Huhi’s number in the midlane, giving OPT a decent lead in that case. Arrow and Big, like their FLY counterparts, have not yet displayed a level of competitive play that older, more experienced duos have mastered. The jungle will play a significant role in this match, but Akaadian is looking a bit more dull than Reignover’s recent ability to powerfarm and carry his laners past the early game.

Betting prediction: CounterLogic Gaming to win, paying -227.27 at BetOnline.

As Week 2 draws to a close, there is a strong ability for teams to start finalizing their records before Rift Rivals as the strong 4-0 start of the pitiful 0-4 nightmare. Golden Guardians will aim to upset Echo Fox in the last match of the game as they did against TL last week. A lot of synergy issues will still need to be ironed out in the form of Optic Gaming, FlyQuest and Cloud9. Some pre-existing teams have to continue to improve their main roster, namely CounterLogic Gaming, 100 Thieves and Clutch Gaming, teams that have had more time to gel with their current players. In this chaotic twist of a game we call League of Legends, teams are setting precedents to conform to the new item builds, map strategies and game mechanics.?

Betting Predictions for Sunday June 24

FlyQuest vs Optic Gaming

12pm PST / 3pm EST

Both of these teams have had lackluster standings last split, but each has replaced key members in its roster in an effort to strive for playoffs in the summer.

There are some very heavy mismatches to start off. OPT Dhokla will fall to FLY Flame most of the time, while OPT PoE will dominate FLY Keane in the same fashion. Bottom lane for both of these teams are still learning how to synergize, so there will be a coin toss there. Santorin versus Akaadian will be the heavy deciders of how botlane will be going, as both junglers are known for somewhat aggressive movements rather farm heavy styles. Each team has its own strong and weak points and it is up to them to capitalize on whichever part of the map will get them ahead.

Betting prediction: Optic Gaming to win, paying +125 at BetOnline.

Cloud9 vs 100 Thieves

1pm PST / 4pm EST

A big yikes to this matchup, where one team is coming in with a relatively new roster and the other team has had the meta pulled out from under them.

Licorice and Svenskeren are the most experienced members on C9 and have to put that experience to good work. Versus Solo and Meteos, veterans in their own right, C9 have the slight advantage when it comes to those two lanes. The complete opposite can be said of the botlane, where Cody Sun and Aphromoo take on the newcomers of Keith and Zeyzal. Ryu and Goldenglue will depend heavily on whether or not they receive jungle assistance as well as picks and bans, but when it comes to coordination and synergy, 100T have a great shotcaller and a stable roster.

Betting prediction: 100 Thieves to win, paying -227.27 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid vs TeamSolo Mid

2pm PST / 5pm EST

The old glory of TSM will square off against the most recent champions of TL to spice up the middle of the day match.

Keeping TL Doublelift down is the most prominent concern of TSM. Zven and Mithy are definitely consistent but they rarely straight up dominate their lane opponents. Bjergsen and Pobelter will duke it out in midlane and that is slightly favored for TSM. Grig and Xmithie battle in the jungle and it is still not completely known how Grig can efficiently play. Top lane, Impact should hold versus Hauntzer despite carry and super tank metas in the toplane, as Impact on a tank can match even the best split pushers on Camille or Renekton.

Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win, paying +100 at BetOnline.

Clutch Gaming vs CounterLogic Gaming

3pm PST / 6pm EST

CG and CLG are similar not only in acronyms but also in player skills, playstyle and map strengths. However, the main difference between the two will be in the jungle.

Both Solo and Darshan struggle with their aggressive, split pushing style that usually results in the players playing a more team fight oriented tank. To add to the similarities, Febiven and Huhi seem to be the focal point for both these teams’ successes, so pressure onto the midlane will be heavily expected. The bottom lane is slightly favored in CG’s favor, as Stixxay is slightly better than Apollo in some respects while Hakuho outedges Biofrost in terms of pressure in and out of lane. LirA versus Reignover will be the heaviest matchup, with LirA favored severely over the pseudo consistent Reignover when it comes to early game map pressure and rotations.

Winner Prediction – Clutch Gaming?
Betting prediction: Clutch Gaming?to win, paying -111.11 at BetOnline.

Echo Fox vs Golden Guardians

4pm PST / 7pm EST

The last match of the day involves the orange FOXs taking on the Californian GGs. As much as one would like to call this match an open and closed case, need there be a reminder of last week’s match versus TL.

Both Contractz and Dardoch are similar in that they are both very aggressive and tilt if things do not go their way. Jungle pressure and proximity can easily decide the early game, but that is as far as GG’s will go in terms of having a possible advantage. Matt has been utilizing his Rakan pick very effectively, but against Altec and Adrian who are known for safer plays, Matt will have to roam to make a significant dent. Huni is simply uncontested against Lourlo in the top….and may even be in the jungle to match against Contractz….or may appear in quite literally any lane. Mickey will take on a fellow Korean in Fenix, and judging from his last week’s performance, he may very well be relegated to a support the Contractz/Deftly champion role.

Winner Prediction – Echo Fox
Betting prediction: Echo Fox?to win, paying -303.03 at BetOnline.

]]>
Last week held some of the most interesting events to ever occur within the North American League Champion Series. Cloud9 removed three of its most iconic members from its roster in hope of spurring competitive drive between academy and LCS players. Clutch Gaming looked on with confusion as Echo Fox was awarded a win after their match suddenly crashed due to server issues. Golden Guardians, 10th place last season, pulled off a miraculous upset against last seasons 1st place Team Liquid. Last but not least, the old faithful have another reason to hype up Team SoloMid after their 2-0 start.

This meta has not been kind to coaches, analysts and players alike. Multiple players are branching out to different roles more than ever, an extremely rare occurrence. Traditional crit and rageblade ADCs are playing second fiddle to bruiser botlanes. Push the jungle ahead strategies by donating all mid lane farm to the jungle are being very common. This week will be entertaining to see which picks will be utilized and in what lane.?

Betting Predictions for Saturday June 23

CounterLogic Gaming vs Team Liquid

CounterLogic Gaming vs Team Liquid
2pm PST / 5pm EST
Both CLG and TL come into this week at a 1-1 record, but TL with the more humiliating loss against Golden Guardians the previous week.

CLG’s performance stemmed immensely from Huhi’s ability to dominate lane, with Stixxay and Reignover providing auxiliary support. CLG can definitely push their lead if they utilize their mid lane as the central pressure point and focusing botlane afterwards. Focusing on Darshan may only lead to marginal success, and Reignover has to be mindful of early game pressure. TL on the other hand cannot emphasize the top lane carry strategy as Impact has very inconsistent success rates with carry champions. Instead, they must rely on the same side of the map as CLG, but Pobelter may find it difficult to oust Huhi. Doublelift will need to don on his carry pants and smash through botlane with Olleh to break the map open.

Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win, paying -188.68 at BetOnline.

TeamSolo Mid vs Clutch Gaming

TeamSolo Mid vs Clutch Gaming
3pm PST / 6pm EST

Clutch Gaming’s chance at a 2-0 was slashed as the officials awarded Echo Fox the win, resulting in a 1-1 record for the former 4th place team. TSM however, rightfully earned its 2-0 start by beating CLG and FLY.

To be honest, both teams have demonstrated flexibility to a high degree so far. CG’s Apollo is not bound by the pure ADC meta and Bjergsen and Hauntzer are able to draft whatever their team composition calls for. When it comes to matchups, Hauntzer is looking in top shape versing Solo this weekend, with Zven and Mithy being the ever stalwart consistent botlane. Bjergsen will have his hands full facing off against Febiven, a terrifyingly dominant midlaner. Grig has shown only a couple games on the big stage, and has made some mistakes. Against CG’s LirA, he absolutely cannot afford to mess up the early game.

Betting prediction: Team SoloMid to win, paying -250 at BetOnline.

Optic Gaming vs Echo Fox

Optic Gaming vs Echo Fox
4pm PST / 7pm EST

OPT and FOX face off against one another, OPT with a 1-1 record while FOX with a 2-0 after the awarded win. This match will be predicted as a very one sided domination fest in favor of our favorite, bubbly Korean, Huni.

OPT has made some decent roster changes in Big and Dhokla, but botlane synergy remains out of reach as Arrow and Big did not win lane in any of their games. Dhokla is, put gently, a giant question mark as to his ability to hold his own lane. The only silver lining for OPT was PoE playing out of his mind when it comes to farm and teamfights. When facing against FOX which has possibly the best player for this mid/jungle/top lane centric meta, OPT has to step up their game. Huni is simply going on a rampage with Dardoch basically being put wherever he is needed. Although the other players on FOX are performing consistently as well, at a certain point, Huni will take over the game if not put in check.

Betting prediction: Echo Fox to win, paying -454.55 at BetOnline.

100 Thieves vs FlyQuest

100 Thieves vs FlyQuest
5pm PST / 8pm EST

In a shocking revelation, 100T started off the week 0-2. In a not so shocking prediction, FLY has the exact same record. One team will earn the win today to break the trend, but there is still a long road ahead for either of these teams to bounce back entirely.

In their games, 100T lost soundly and very methodically. Meteos was a very big nonfactor in the early game which is extremely punishing in the current meta. Aphromoo was also unable to exert too much pressure outside his lane which in turn causes pressure from the enemy to spill into 100T’s lanes. FLY have much larger problems, losing their games very significantly. Wildturtle and Flame seem to be the only consistent players while Keane is a loose cannon, Santorin is struggling in the meta and Kwon has been a no show. On paper and in reality, 100T should win every single lane with the exception of mid, depending on whether we see the 5-2 Lulu mid or the 0-3 Gangplank mid from Keane.

Betting prediction: 100 Thieves to win, paying -227.27 at BetOnline.

Golden Guardians vs Cloud9

Golden Guardians vs Cloud9
6pm PST / 9pm EST

The most surprising team coming out 1-1 in Week 1 would have to be GGs. They are facing against the team who surprised most of NA with a controversial roster change, C9, who has also ended week 1 with the same record.

In their win against TL, GGs straight up won every lane. Without any form of contest. Lourlo could split push and match anybody in the 1v1, Deftly and Contractz provided the main source of damage with Matt and Mickey playing supporters extremely proactively. C9 on the other hand mainly relied on Goldenglue and Licorice to apply pressure to their opponents while scaling to their team composition’s win conditions. For GGs, skyrocketing Contractz ahead seems to be the most realistic go-to strategy. Deftly and Matt should also have an advantage against Keith and Zeyzal, newcomers to the LCS. On the flip side, Licorice shutting down Lourlo prevents a lot of mapwide pressure while Goldenglue’s mid lane pressure will be a significant deciding factor for the game.

Betting prediction: Cloud9 to win, paying -212.77 at BetOnline.

As matches are unfolding across the globe, eyes are on North America to see which meta will be adapted into gameplay. The LPL and LCK seasons have already introduced some incredibly wacky and varied gameplay including double bruiser botlanes utilizing Vladimir, Pyke and Darius, a resurgence of Lulu mid and a stunning introduction of Aatrox. These team compositions have met with a similar rate of success as the traditional team compositions of ADC/Support, Mid carry and CC Top/Jng, but nonetheless, North America is known for twisting the meta in the most entertaining was possible.

Betting Predictions for Sunday June 17

Team SoloMid vs FlyQuest

Match 1 – 12pm PST / 3pm EST

The most famous NA team, Team SoloMid, will be sparring against the newly reorganized FlyQuest in our first match of the day. Trying to finish off the second day as strongly as possible, it is very likely that FQ will pull off some shenanigans to gain the lead early.

On paper, TSM’s botlane is a direct upgrade to FLY’s botlane. That being said, this meta has destroyed the foundation of the ADC/Support roles and puts Zven and Wildturtle at a lower priority than most other lanes. The combination of Keane, Flame and Santorin still have yet to solidify their playmaking when compared to the time Bjergsen, Hauntzer and MikeYeung have received. Unfortunately for the players in green, the advantage still goes to TSM for the simple sheer strength of the midlane and botlane synergy between the two.

Betting prediction: Team SoloMid to win, paying -400 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid vs Golden Guardians

Team Liquid vs Golden Guardians NA LCS
Match 2 – 1pm PST / 4pm EST

The Golden State basketball team may have won in a landslide during the NBA Finals, but the opposite story may hold true in this match versus the 1st place finisher during Spring. Team Liquid are probably not considering this to be a terribly difficult match, but should they fall into complacency, the GG’s will absolutely attempt to usurp them.

Roster wise, the GGs removed Hai for Mickey. Although this brings some needed stability in the laning phase for midlane, it is unclear whether or not Mickey can communicate effectively enough to take over Hai’s shotcalling. And against TL whose playstyle is flexible and headstrong enough to do what they effectively want, the lack of coherent shotcalling puts the GGs in a heavy disadvantage. A roster change was definitely needed but it stands to reason that the GGs will have to put much more into practice, scrimming and team cohesion before challenging for the top spots.

Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win, paying -500 at BetOnline.

CounterLogic Gaming vs 100 Thieves

CounterLogic Gaming vs 100 Thieves NA LCS
Match 3 – 2pm PST / 5pm EST

The ever faithful fans of CLG will be cheering their boys on against the second place team of last split, 100 Thieves. Aphromoo will take the stage against his former team of three years, a team that he helped to build a lasting legacy and reputation for.

The question becomes whether or not CLG gains momentum at the beginning of the split. With Reignover’s lack of jungle pressure compared to his former self on Immortals or Fnatic, the pressure heavily lies on Huhi and Stixxay to win the early game. Even Darshan has been struggling employing his aggressive laning, split pushing style he is known for. 100T on the other hand have a silver lining in this ADC-less meta in Aphromoo, who can and will exert pressure across the map from his bottom lane territory. Lane by lane matchups in top, mid and ADC are favored to 100T but not by much. As mentioned before, this will be a jungle pressure battle and Meteos is the clear favorite to win.

Betting prediction: 100 Thieves to win, paying -151.52 at BetOnline.

Clutch Gaming vs Echo Fox

Clutch Gaming vs Echo Fox NA LCS
Match 4 – 3pm PST / 6pm EST

Perhaps one of the more interesting matches of the day, Clutch Gaming and Echo Fox will begin their skirmish as the fourth match of the day and each hope to end the day with a victory. When it comes down to skill matchups, these two teams may be the most similar but for different reasons.

As always, Huni and Dardoch will aim to steal the show by going full throttle right out of the gate. Unfortunately for CG, Solo has been the weakest link on the team as of the latter half of last split. This effectively creates a power sink for FOX on the upper half of the map, which can also arguably be seen as the more powerful half of the map. Febiven matching up against Fenix is not the worst matchup, while Altec/Adrian versus Apollo/Hakuho should actually tilt a bit in favor of CG. But as reality sets in, when deciding to further a top laner versus and ADC on patch 8.11, the former is a safer option for victory.

Betting prediction: Echo Fox to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

Cloud9 vs Optic Gaming

Cloud9 vs Optic Gaming NA LCS
Match 5 – 4pm PST / 7pm EST

Closing out the first week of the NA LCS will be a match between C9 and OPT. This match will most likely be OPT’s largest chance to show the world their mettle as their matchup with C9 is not horrible by any means.

Dhokla versus Licorice is a battle of the rookies, but is in Licorice’s favor due to Licorice being able to display his stellar abilities last split. Akaadian and Svenskeren will be at each others’ throats in the jungle as their playstyles are quite similar, utilizing mainly CC heavy junglers with the occasional Kha’zix throw in. The sparks will fly in midlane with PowerOfEvil, arguably one of the best EU midlaners, facing off against Jensen who is known to hold lane quite soundly. All in all, this match will be decided by jungle pressure and Dhoklas ability to hold Licorice in the top lane. Don’t be surprised however if a third win condition pops up in the form of Mordekaiser midgame powerspike or a protect the Darius composition though.

Betting prediction: Cloud9 to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

The North American League Championship Series starts off on Saturday, June 16th with some heavy implications for some teams trying to ascend to the world stage as well as key roster changes around some of the lower half teams. The top three finishes last split, Team Liquid, 100 Thieves and Echo Fox, are massively ahead in championship points that allow them to qualify for one of the three North American spots for the 2018 World Championship. The first place team during the summer split will automatically qualify as the first seed for NA, while the second seed will be determined by total championship points accumulated during the first two seasons and the last seed through a gauntlet type style.

In terms of roster changes, some teams decided to swap one player on their roster while others went more drastic changes. A summary can be seen below:

FlyQuest
Jungle: Anda -> Santorin
Support: Stunt -> Konkwon

Golden Guardians
Mid: Hai -> Mickey

Optic Gaming
Top: zig -> Dhokla
Support: LemonNation -> Big

The bottom three teams from last split were the only teams to make changes to their main roster, whereas all the other seven teams seem to be sticking to their former roster in the spring.

Betting Predictions for Saturday June 16

100 Thieves vs Team Liquid

100 Thieves vs Team Liquid NA LCS
Match 1 – 2pm PST / 5pm EST

Starting off the day with the two largest titans of the Spring Split, Riot Games is not playing any games. 100 Thieves will seek revenge on the team that had stolen first place from the thieves themselves, Team Liquid. Team Liquid, after making a comeback during MSI but falling short, still seem to be the most interesting team when it comes to inconsistencies despite their past glory.

The largest deciding factor about this match will be the patch this game is being played on, which would be patch 8.11. This patch has effectively gutted critical chance attack damage carries (ADC) and is toying around with the Rageblade ADCs to the point where ADCs have very, very late power spikes in a short game environment. Although this hurts Cody Sun plenty, this will hurt Doublelift even more as the main MVP ADC in NA. The question becomes if the ADC does not perform well, which team can pick up the slack. Although top lane and mid lane may be evenly matched, Meteos came flying out of the gate last season with surprising aggressive moves to push his laners ahead. And despite Olleh’s consistent performance, he will be matched against the MVP of Spring Split, Aphromoo.

Betting prediction: 100 Thieves to win, paying +125 at BetOnline.

Team SoloMid vs CounterLogic Gaming

Team SoloMid vs CounterLogic Gaming NA LCS
Match 2 – 3pm PST / 6pm EST

Two of the most famous names in the NA LCS are to play after the aforementioned match of 100T vs TL. Neither team has made significant roster changes as of yet and despite any doubt from the fans, both have managed to secure safe-ish standings last season.

It was apparent that CLG had struggled finding their rhythm starting off last split, with every lane on CLG forfeiting pressure or just simply dying from a majority of ganks. TSM had a similar problem, mainly with incorporating Zven and Mithy into their team composition as well as MikeYeung hitting his stride. Taking both points into account, CLG has still failed to meet its fans’ expectations by finishing 7th place and missing playoffs while TSM had actually secured themselves 3rd place going into playoffs. Across the board, TSM looks stronger if it is an average day for both teams. Even on weak days, TSM still has the heralded Bjergsen and the Zven/Mithy combination for consistent gameplay.

Betting prediction: Team SoloMid to win, paying -200 at BetOnline.

Clutch Gaming vs Cloud9

Clutch Gaming vs Cloud9 NA LCS
Match 3 – 4pm PST / 7pm EST

Going down the list of power teams, the newly formed Clutch Gaming takes on the titan of Cloud9 in the third match of the day. Cloud9 had first place contested for the longest time before succumbing to their poor habits of being lax during the latter half of the season. Clutch Gaming however sparked massive interest after their 3-1 victory over TSM, cementing them as a team to be taken seriously.

Again, with both teams not making roster changes, the power rankings will look curiously similar to last season. With the current patch, Apollo and Sneaky from both teams will probably find it difficult to snowball. In the midlane, Febiven had a great showing last season but Jensen also had an immaculate KDA and KP%. Solo and Licorice in the toplane are both double edged swords, so it stems from the ability for one top laner to get ahead to decide the game in a more absolute fashion. Svenskeren is the epitome of standard, by the book jungling while LirA has been known to be more eccentric. Under the same idea of 100T vs TL, this game might very well be decided as which team will be able to cover for an ADC’s weakness.

Betting prediction: Cloud9 to win, paying -175.44 at BetOnline.

FlyQuest vs Echo Fox

FlyQuest vs Echo Fox NA LCS
Match 4 – 5pm PST / 8pm EST

At first, the power ranking of this match seems obvious – 2nd place Echo Fox vs 8th place FlyQuest in the regular season. With the roster changes, FLY may fare a bit better than last season, although it is still a herculean task to bring down the FOXs.

FLY has swapped two of their members, Anda and Stunt, for Santorin and KonKwon. When it comes to experience, the substitutions make sense as both the newcomers possess years in the competitive scene. In full respect for the players’ skill, the newcomers may not necessarily be an upgrade in terms of mechanics but FLY is aiming for the veteran experience to solidify their playstyle. In the meanwhile, FOX is staying with their star studded roster that, on the back of Dardoch and Huni, aim to spiral the game out of control as soon as possible. Still possessing a stellar roster than earned them third place in the playoffs, FOX is still looking strong with FLY being the severe underdogs.

Betting prediction: Echo Fox to win, paying -303.03 at BetOnline.

Golden Guardians vs Optic Gaming

Golden Guardians vs Optic Gaming NA LCS
Match 5 – 6pm PST / 9pm EST

Although being branded initially as the bottom of the barrel, these two teams did pull off surprising upsets in the regular season last split. Both possessing a slightly different roster, correctly assessing each team’s power is not as simple as it sounds.

With Hai’s replacement in Mickey, GGs aim to replace their expert shotcaller with an experienced player that relies on mechanical outplays and overall better laning and teamfighting plays. OPT on the other hand has replaced their top laner zig, who has had poor matchups last season, with Dhokla, a player relatively new to the professional scene. OPT has also replaced LemonNation with Big, a change similar to GG’s in terms of age versus experience and mechanics. This patch will once again play a large part in deciding the stronger team, as the focus will be on the top-jungle-mid combination. PowerOfEvil may secure OPT the midlane, but the combination of GG Lourlo and Contractz have a clear advantage over Dhokla and Akaadian due to the time they have had to synergize. In addition, the Korean import Mickey may not necessarily lose to POE in the midlane, creating quite a threatening composition in favor of GG,

Betting prediction: Golden Guardians to win, paying -120.48 at BetOnline.

Everybody can breathe a sigh of relief as the predicted finals has come to pass – Royal Never Give Up from China and Kingzone DragonX from Korea take the stage this Sunday. These two teams have fought tooth and nail to get to this final bout and there will be sparks in every single lane.

RNG handed Fnatic a 3-0 sweep on Friday’s semifinals match. Bringing out Karsa as the primary jungler, RNG held the first two games to a sizable lead with the name of the game being ‘kill the FNC support’. The third game introduced Mlxg back into the lineup where, despite the close game, RNG took the victory after a fantastic showing from the Chinese jungler.

Kingzone Dragon X had soundly stomped Flash Wolves in game one, only to be returned the favor with interest in game two. Afterwards, KZ Khan completely popped off to show why he was able to secure a spot on the number one Korean team. Coupled with the fact that FW slowly but surely lost ability to control tempo the longer the series progressed, KZ secured the victory 3-1.?

With both teams looking in top form, RNG and KZ head into the final day aiming to be the newest team crowned MSI champion. RNG with their early struggles in the tournament have finally found the meta that best suits their playstyle. KZ still look to be a powerful team at their core, but as most analysts would agree, they are only a tiny bit off from hitting their complete stride.

Top Lane – Letme vs Khan

Khan is the immediate favorite to win this matchup if left unhindered. Khan was known as the most punishing top laner to play against in the LCK for good reason – he will find a way to carry the game, whether it be on a bruiser Camille or a tank Cho’gath. Letme plays what his team needs, whether tank or carry, and does it well, but he is going to need some heavy jungle intervention to stop Khan in his tracks.

Jungle – Peanut/Cuzz vs Karsa/Mlxg

Honestly, this matchup is a coin flip as to who will win. Karsa and Mlxg are two world class junglers that have different playstyles, whereas Peanut is more similar to Mlxg’s aggressive style. Towards the early series, Peanut should be favored but towards the middle and end of the series where RNG has had time to analyze Peanut and put in their substitute jungler, RNG should be able to wrestle jungle pressure back. Cuzz should be seeing little playtime unless something goes horribly wrong.

Mid – Bdd vs Xiaohu

The battle of the midlaner will most likely prove as a stalemate unless the jungler get involved. Both sport large champion pools that can play to multiple styles including protect the carry (Karma, Galio), mapwide roaming (Taliyah), in-your-face carry (Irelia, Yasuo, Vlad)) and backline artillery (Zoe).

ADC and Support – Pray/Gorilla vs Uzi/Ming

Uzi is indisputably the better ADC on paper, but the question is whether or not Ming can keep up the tempo with the amazing ADC. Uzi has shown to be able to carry games with the support of his team , outputting tremendous damage and KP%. Pray and Gorilla may probably at best hope to go even unless RNG botches the pick/bans, but if the champions picked have similar tiers and strengths, expect this to go to Uzi and Ming.

Prediction – Kingzone DragonX, 3-2

The main problem with picking RNG is that even during their winning matchups, KZ’s counterparts will not be set behind by any means. Putting Peanut in the jungle behind will just mean Peanut will play to his teams win conditions instead of going for risky plays, while putting Pray and Gorilla behind has been the story of KZ’s life half the tournament. RNG winning would most likely be a 70-30 percentage, not a large upset but an upset nonetheless.
