Esports event organizer BLAST has unveiled Chrystina Martel as the organization’s new Head of Esports Product. Martel will be expected to increase the quality of the organization’s events and offerings. This includes working on products helpful to the esports event production company.
While making the announcement, BLAST revealed that during her time with the company, the new Head of Esports would work closely with both the “internal departments and external partners” of the esports organization.
Martel worked for another esports event organizer, ESL Gaming, for nearly a decade before joining BLAST. The events production company is another top-known brand in the esports scene like BLAST.
The newly recruited Head of Esports Product manned several positions in his time with ESL Gaming, including Communications Manager as well as Partner Manager. Her last role in ESL Gaming saw her take up the position of Project Manager in the department of Data Protection. Martel left the organization in September 2021 and, about a year later (August 2022), became a part of BLAST.
After her appointment, the BLAST Head of Esports Product took to social media to express how excited she was to be a part of the organization and her enthusiasm to continue making esports products.
Martel wrote, “I’m thrilled to be able to announce that I am BLAST’s new Head of Esports Product! Looking forward to jumping into the deep end with this leadership role and am truly excited to work together with such a fantastic new team.”
The Head of Esports product continued, “I can’t wait to get stuck in and back to creating new and exciting esports concepts for fans around the world. I’ve been an admirer of the company ever since they blasted onto the scene years ago and can’t wait to see what we’re able to build together.”
Besides bringing new talents into the company, BLAST is currently making plans for the second part of its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive season. The BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022 is the next event on the organizers’ schedule.
Nike, a well-known sportswear brand, is said to be one of the event’s partners. The event will take place later this month. The duo previously reached an agreement for a collaborative project which will see the launch of a collection of co-branded merchandise.
The collection will be displayed during the August event to exhibit the “gaming lifestyle.” The company revealed that the pieces would include jerseys, caps, t-shirts, and hoodies. News of the collaboration became rampant in June during the BLAST Spring Finals. However, it was made official only recently.
The organization also revealed its plans for the BLAST Premier World Final, which will take place in December. The event, which is the culmination of the organization’s CS:GO circuit, will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in front of a live audience.
The event is the first time a CS:GO tournament finals hosted by the organization will be held in the city. As part of the three-year collaboration between both companies, ADGaming was enlisted to make the event happen. The company was established in 2021 to build up the country’s gaming and esports capabilities.
