The Norwegian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro Haakon “?Radifaction?” Tholo announced his move into free agency on Monday following his four-month stint as an inactive member of Apeks.
Since joining the team in July 2019, Radifaction? helped Apeks to a handful of impressive placements in domestic and international tournaments. They include runner-up finishes at ESEA Proving Grounds 2019 Europe and Vestlan Virtual 2020, as well as gold medals from Telialigaen Fall 2019 and Telialigaen Spring 2020.
He also led Apeks to the ESL One Rio Europe Minor Closed Qualifier and ESEA MDL Season 33 Relegations, although the Norwegian squad fell short in both, finishing in 13-16th and fifth-sixth place respectively.
Despite his relative success, Radifaction? was benched in April and soon replaced by former Ninjas in Pyjamas AWPer Dennis “?dennis?” Edman.
Even after moving to Apeks’ inactive roster, Radifaction? stayed involved in the scene as a stand-in for Team Secret. He led them to a sixth-eighth finish in the #HomeSweetHome: Week 6 playoffs and third place in the ESEA Season 34: Advanced Division, marking the organisation’s best result since returning to CS:GO in November 2019.
It remains to be seen where Radifaction? will continue his CS:GO career, but it’s likely we will see the 21-year-old Norwegian competing under Team Secret’s banner alongside Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci,Guy “anarkez” Trachtman, Martin “PERCY” Wessel and Danni “smF” Dyg for a while longer.
If that stay turns into a full-time contract, Team Secret will mark Radifaction?’s eighth stop in a four-year CS:GO career that began in October 2016 with Celestial Gaming. He has also played for BX3 eSports Club, Nordic Warthogs, Zoctai, Nordavind and NoChance.
