Spacestation Gaming lost their RLCS World Championship group stage opener against the tournament favourites Moist Esports (2-4), which is hardly shocking. Still, SSG played well on the day and showed many good qualities, which made us believe Tshaka “Arsenal” Lateef Taylor Jr and his crew will do more than fine on Friday.

Endpoint CeX nearly won against SMPR Esports on Tuesday but choked on the final map (Champions Field) and lost the series 3-4. It was a somewhat unexpected loss, but it was more SMPR playing well rather than Endpoint CeX playing poorly.

Still, even though Endpoint CeX are a world-class team, it’s hard to make a case for them here. They’re individually just as solid as Spacestation Gaming, but the latter won this affair (3-0) in July and considering the teams’ recent form, SSG should be able to do it again.

RENEGADES vs THE GENERAL NRG CEX RLCS BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Renegades +333 at BetOnline | NRG -500 at BetOnline
When: August 12, 2022 | 12:00 CDT

Renegades performed well during the wildcard stage, beating Bravado Gaming (4-0), Team Secret (4-1), and OpTic Gaming (4-2), but they were no match for Team BDS, who crushed them 4-1 on Tuesday. Seeing how much Renegades struggled against a top-tier team, it would make sense to fade them for this match, and this might be the only right play.

Renegades have not shown enough this year to be considered a serious threat to The General NRG, even though Mariano “SquishyMuffinz” Arruda and co. lost badly against Version1 earlier this week. But regardless of that loss, NRG are still much stronger than Renegades, who they’ve beat twice since March (3-0, 3-0).

Renegades might steal a map on Friday, but we wouldn’t expect much more from them, so we’ll trust The General NRG to win with at least three maps to spare.
