After a bitter week five, Team Liquid enter the upcoming weekend of the LCS Summer Split under huge pressure to perform and regain some momentum. This, however, will be easier said than done, considering how closely contested the league has been thus far.
Liquid struggled against 100 Thieves in a closely contested match and also suffered a disappointing defeat at hands of Cloud 9, who now share top spot in the standings with TL and Counter Logic Gaming. The NA powerhouse came out of week five with a 1-1 record, but the unconvincing nature of those performances has raised questions over their expectations for week six.
On day one, Team Liquid will face off against a CLG side that sits 7-3 after a historic, drought-breaking win against Team SoloMid. The fixture will mark a rematch of week two, when we saw CLG come out victorious. While League of Legends betting sites have TL as favourites, Counter Logic have the momentum and might fancy their chances of going 2-0 up on the reigning Mid-Season Invitational champions.
On day two, Team Liquid take a shot at FlyQuest, who have not been too impressive this split. Nonetheless, FQ are coming into week six on the back of their first perfect week of the split after defeating Echo Fox and scoring an upset win over OpTic Gaming.
Those results have given team morale a much-needed boost while reviving FlyQuest’s chances of finishing in the top six. Still, the question remains: Can they defeat Team Liquid and add another win to their record?
It would be a huge upset if FQ claimed the spoils on Sunday, and the odds reflect that. Team Liquid will come out ahead nine times out of 10, but there is still that one match that can turn in the underdog’s favour. We have seen our fair share of boilovers already this split and should Liquid underestimate FlyQuest and let their guard down, there is a chance – however slim – they might lose to FlyQuest as they did back in March.
Team Liquid LCS betting predictions
As we have mentioned, Team Liquid vs CLG is expected to be a close encounter. CLG have proven their worth and their momentum can take them even further.
FlyQuest, however, seem to lack the quality and depth to compete against the top dogs. While they did manage to take down Echo Fox and OpTic Gaming, we have to acknowledge that OpTic are far inferior to Team Liquid, meaning FlyQuest will have an extremely hard time repeating their success from the spring split.
