Rogue are known for underperforming in high-pressure situations, so it wouldn’t be too shocking to see them slip in the final round of the group stage. Still, even if they don’t perform at their best, we find it hard to believe GAM Esports can come out ahead.
Individually, GAM Esports might match Rogue, but their macro isn’t good enough to gain any significant advantages in the mid-late game. Moreover, we’re assuming that Rogue won’t play as well as they did in round one when they obliterated GAM through the bottom lane.
We usually avoid large kill handicaps, but Rogue winning with a double-digit kill lead is definitely achievable.
Rogue -10.5 kills

GAM Esports were the only team Top Esports won against in the first round, and nothing from that fixture suggested that GAM can turn it around on Saturday. Still, Top are the type of team that will lose against much weaker squads due to their disregard for draft and counting solely on individual talent.
Interestingly, TES didn’t approach their first meeting with GAM with ego and showed a lot of respect with their drafting. Perhaps that could change, but Top are 1-2 down in the group stage, so they can’t afford to drop another match.
We expect Top Esports to show what they’re capable of and hand GAM Esports another heavy loss. A bet on the favourites to cover a -11.5 kills handicap isn’t too crazy, but since we expect a fast game, under 27.5 total kills makes more sense.
Under 27.5 total kills

Rogue needed just under 36 minutes to defeat DRX, and while the game had its moments, Rogue were in complete control from the first minute. Some might argue that DRX underperformed, but we would disagree.
DRX are one of the most overrated teams at the LoL World Championship, mainly due to their success in the play-in stage. But their record doesn’t show that DRX somehow produced a 6k gold comeback against MAD and that they had the luxury of facing Royal Never Give Up with a terrible draft.
And then, DRX also defeated Top Esports, which was again one of the games handed to them. The first meeting between DRX and Rogue was a perfect indication of which is the better team, so as long as you get Rogue at underdog odds, they’re an excellent pick.
Rogue to win

GAM Esports struggled against DRX last Tuesday when they lost with 6-15 in kills and nearly a 10k gold deficit. It was a convincing performance from DRX, largely thanks to Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo, who ended the match with 10/1/2 on Sylas.
Stopping Zeka is the main priority for GAM if they wish to cause an upset, but they were unsuccessful in the first game, and we don’t believe that’ll change. So instead, GAM might draft a strong early-game composition and try to snowball their way to victory.
That might work, but even if it doesn’t, it will lead to a very bloody game with plenty of kills. GAM Esports with a +10.5 kill handicap is an appealing choice, but we like total kills better.

Despite their first meeting looking like it would end in Top Esports’ favour, Rogue found a way to upset the Chinese LoL superteam, mainly thanks to their synergy and solid decision-making. Rogue won with over 10k gold lead and 18-6 in kills, but it’s worth noting that the game was much closer than what those figures suggest.
Most of Rogue’s success on the day was due to their solid objective control, which gave them a massive EXP lead – Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos had a three-level lead over Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo – with top, jungle, and mid at least a level ahead.
It’s not too crazy to believe Rogue can win again, even though Top Esports are still a much stronger team on paper. But we can’t complain about the offered LoL betting odds for Rogue with a 7.5-kill handicap.

Top Esports were heavy favourites for their first meeting with DRX; however, they lost quite badly, with a 14k gold deficit and 2-15 in kills. Notably, Top Esports didn’t play that bad, except for its bottom lane, which ended the game with a combined score of 0/9/4.
But it’s hard to imagine that matchup ending much differently after Top Esports interlocked Draven into Caitlyn – proving once more that they can be a bit arrogant. It was another game where TES played with too much ego. That, as they’ve learned, won’t work on the LoL Worlds stage.
Top Esports lost the first match, but they’re a superior team that should be able to handle Korea’s fourth seed. Take Top Esports to win with at least eight kills to spare.
