The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2023 Spring regular season is drawing to a close, with only a handful of matches left on the schedule. Here are our predictions for Friday’s series – LGD Gaming vs LNG Esports, and ThunderTalk Gaming vs EDward Gaming.

Best Odds: LGD +550 at BetOnline | LNG -1000 at BetOnline

LNG Esports enter their final LPL 2023 Spring regular season match with a 12-3 record, tied with EDward Gaming and JD Gaming, which guarantees them a direct invite into the third round of the playoffs. LGD Gaming, on the other side, are 5-10 and already out of the race for a top-10 finish.

The teams’ regular season record makes it very clear how this match should go, and even though there’s always a slight chance we might see an upset, we wouldn’t expect it to happen on Friday. LNG Esports are one of LPL’s top teams and have suffered only one upset loss this season – against Ninjas in Pyjamas (1-2) – which proves LNG’s efficiency against lesser squads.

As exciting as it is to cheer on the underdogs, LGD have nothing to match LNG. We expect a quick 2-0 for LNG Esports, who shouldn’t give up too much. So we’re taking under 25.5 kills on both maps at -120.48 with BetOnline.

THUNDERTALK GAMING vs EDWARD GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: TT +200 at BetOnline | EDG -277.78 at BetOnline
When: March 24, 2023 | 19:00 CST

ThunderTalk Gaming will have a mountain to climb this Friday when they face off against Edward Gaming in a match that can earn them a playoff ticket. For EDward Gaming, winning this game represents a chance to claim the regular season title, but it won’t happen unless JD Gaming slip on Saturday.

Despite the fact that there’s a lot more on the line for ThunderTalk Gaming, we’re still talking about a fixture between possibly one of the best teams in the world and ThunderTalk Gaming, who are a mid-tier team at best.

EDward Gaming did lose against FunPlus Phoenix (1-2) last weekend, and they dropped a map against OMG (1-2) two days prior, which suggests that EDG might choke again. But in their defence, EDG let Aurelion Sol slip through the draft, and they were playing against a team with nothing to lose, which is always more complicated.

Regardless of how concerning EDG’s last two showings were, they shouldn’t be losing games like this, nor can they afford to let their foot off the gas ahead of the playoffs. We’re taking EDG to end the season with a 2-0 sweep.
