ThunderTalk Gaming started the 2024 League of Legends season with an upset win against LNG Esports but didn’t see the same success against Weibo Gaming on Sunday. In contrast, Oh My God won against Team WE in the opening week of the split but lost against LNG.

ThunderTalk beating LNG and Oh My God losing against the same team doesn’t prove that TT Gaming is stronger. But they have strong continuity, having kept the core intact, which helped them perform better in the first week of action.

Oh My God isn’t a bottom-tier team, but based on what they’ve shown over the first week, they’re not that good either. They lost a lot of the top talent and coaching staff this offseason, and while Oh My God did a fine job building a new roster, this iteration should be much weaker than the 2023 version.

LNG Esports lost their opening match of the 2024 LPL Spring Split against ThunderTalk Gaming, but bounced back with a convincing 2-0 sweep of Oh My God. Having faced two weaker teams, LNG Esports hasn’t had a chance to show much.

Despite their rough start to the season, LNG Esports are still a very strong team. The only concern with LNG currently is the little time this line-up has had to gel.

Weibo Gaming has proven to have a very volatile top lane but a stable mid and bottom, keeping their identity from 2023. Like last season, Weibo Gaming seems like they’ll be a team that shouldn’t be trusted as favourites, but they are dangerous underdogs.

Weibo Gaming have enough talent to challenge any team in the LPL and are a solid bet as underdogs in this match. LNG is still a bit shaky, which should be enough for WBG to do damage.
