Kim “Shuttle” Yoon Joong and Choi “sSak” Ho Seon will clash for the first time since February, when Shuttle won 1-0 at AfreecaTV StarCraft Team League Season 2, to improve his head-to-head record to 8-6. It’s important to note that 12 out of those 14 meetings happened in 2017 or earlier, so we shouldn’t put too much weight on that number.
Regardless, we don’t believe Shuttle should be priced as high as he is, and would even go so far as to say that the esports betting sites shouldn’t be offering odds higher than $2.00 on the Afreeca Starleague Season 1 champion. He might not be as good as he was in 2016, but he is very effective against Terran players (5-1 in 2021).
What’s more, sSak is 3-7 in his last 10 outings and has played only two games since the start of March. The 32-year-old veteran has beaten stronger players than Shuttle before, but the odds are too low for us to take his side.

Jang “Snow” Yoon Chul is undeniably the better player of the two, and the latest StarCraft II betting odds make it very difficult to argue against that. However, we would not count out Ryoo “Scan” Seung Kohn just yet, especially at this price.
Snow enters this match with a 3-2 record since the start of March, which is not great, considering that his wins came against much weaker players in Choi “yoOn” Yoon Sun, Yoon “huro” Soo Chul, and an amateur ???. Scan, on the other side, has played 19 games in the same stretch and won all but four.
Even though Scan faced mostly weaker opponents, playing so many games has its advantages. Snow should come out ahead more times than not, however, since this is a best-of-one (Bo1) series, it’s not entirely unlikely we might see an upset win.

FREDIT BRION vs DWG KIA LOL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

When: | March 11, 2021 at 17:00 KST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
?Fredit BRION lost against DRX on Sunday, but they played well and might have won at least one map had a few 50/50 fights gone their way. Despite the defeat, we were quite impressed with the performance of their jungler Eom “UmTi” Seong-hyeon, who will be Fredit’s main weapon against the vastly superior DWG KIA on Thursday.
DWG are the strongest team in the league, and it could even be argued that they are currently playing the best LoL in the world. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that their implied probability to defeat Fredit BRION is 94.3%, which is about right.
Since Fredit don’t possess enough individual quality to compete with DWG KIA, we can expect them to draft for early aggression, which could work in their favour since DWG are not particularly kill-hungry before the mid-game. We don’t expect Fredit BRION will win, but with the way UmTi has been playing of late, there is a world where they can cause some damage early and claim first blood.
AFREECA FREECS vs HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS LOL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

When: | March 11, 2021 at 20:00 KST |

?Hanwha Life Esports are a fun team to watch, largely because they like to engage in skirmishes at every opportunity. That approach has earned them eight wins so far this season, but it is not as effective when faced with stronger teams that are prepared to fight fire with fire (e.g. Gen.G last round).
Afreeca Freecs have found plenty of successful against weaker teams this split, and they haven’t looked too bad in their meetings with LCK’s top dogs either. Their biggest strength is an explosive early-game that can catch teams off-guard or at least push them into a position where they need to fight from behind, which is something not many squads can do efficiently.
This should be a close and explosive match, and while we expect HLE to come out ahead, we like a bet on kill totals better. The same bet can be placed on all three maps.

NONGSHIN REDFORCE vs HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

When: | February 18, 2021 at 17:00 KST |

?Even though Nongshin RedForce deserve some slack for their last two defeats against T1 and Gen.G, it’s hard to ignore their flaws – namely Park “Bay” Jun-byeong, who is statistically the worst mid-laner in the league. That will be a huge problem for this match as Bay faces arguably the best laning mid-laner in the league, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon.
And it’s not only the mid-lane matchup that works in favour of Hanwha Life. When all of their players are at their best, HLE are easily one of the top five teams in the league, whereas RedForce are hardly worth mentioning even when everything goes their way.
On the flip side, Hanwha Life can have moments when they look completely out of sync, but the quality gap between these two sides is too big for us to consider betting against them. As long as HLE get Chovy on a carry champion, this should be an easy 2-0 win to the favourites.
GEN.G vs AFREECA FREECS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

LoL Betting Odds: | Gen.G -454.55 at BetOnline | AF +347 at BetOnline |
When: | February 18, 2021 at 20:00 KST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
?We could list all the reasons why Gen.G are stronger than Afreeca Freecs, but anyone who is even remotely familiar with the LoL esports scene should know that Gen.G are one of the top teams in the world. That said, there is a world where AF steal one map, but it will all come down to two things: their draft, and ADC Bae “Bang” Jun-sik.
These two factors will also work hand-in-hand since it will be crucial for AF to play around Bang and enable him to carry, as opposed to putting their resources towards top laner Kim “Kiin” Gi-in and mid laner Song “Fly” Yong-jun, who are generally very inconsistent.
Afreeca Freecs might be weaker overall, but they at least have the tools to cause some damage and perhaps even surprise Gen.G, who lost against a much weaker opponent (1-2 against DRX) just two weeks ago. As such, we are taking AF at the map line.

?Hanwha Life Esports suffered their second defeat of the season on Friday when they were outclassed by DWG KIA. The reigning LoL world champions won game one despite giving up the first herald, first blood, first turret, first drake, and ending the game 8-12 down in kills, whereas game two was as one-sided as it can get with DWG securing a 3k+ gold lead only 20 minutes in. The match was not so much about HLE making mistakes as it was about DWG KIA showing how much better they are than everyone else.
Afreeca Freecs swept T1 on Sunday, and while they deserved the win, it’s worth noting that T1 held a 4500 gold lead in game two but threw it all away with a couple of disjointed teamfights. Regardless, that was arguably Afreeca Freecs’ best series of the season, and they deserve a lot of praise for what they showed.
AF enter this match as massive underdogs, which seems fair considering HLE haven’t lost to a non-elite team yet. Having said that, AF are starting to gain some traction, and if their showing against T1 is any indication, we should be in for a close and exciting series on Thursday.
FREDIT BRION vs KT ROLSTER LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

LoL Betting Odds: | BRION +260 at BetOnline | KT -333.33 at BetOnline |
When: | February 4, 2021 at 20:00 KST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
?KT Rolster looked somewhat disorganised on Sunday when they suffered a 0-2 loss against Nonghin RedForce. We wouldn’t put too much weight on that result, however, because it seemed they just had an off day.
Fredit BRION have been slowly improving, but they’re not quite there yet. There are arguments to be made they should have won their most recent series against DRX, but they still struggle to close out their games due largely to poor macro play.
At the provided LoL betting odds, the only two bets worth considering are KT or Fredit at the map line. While the latter option seems safer, the reality is that there is a 50/50 chance we see either of the two outcomes. KT were far from impressive in their most recent series, but it’s difficult to bet against a team fielding Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon and Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon.

When: | January 20, 2021 at 17:00 KST |
Watch Live: | Twitch, Lolesports |
Afreeca Freecs enter this match off a 2-0 sweep of Fredit BRION in what was a surprisingly close and a sloppy affair.
Regardless, AF proved that they can come out of the chaos with gigantic gold leads, which speaks a lot about their quality as a team that will do fine against bottom of the table squads, but will likely struggle against the top dogs.
Liiv SANDBOX were not very successful last week, when they lost to Nongshim RedForce (1-2) and KT Rolster (0-2). If there is something we can take from SANDBOX’s games is that they have a lot of promise, but they’re very messy in execution, which suggests they should do fine later in the season, but for now they’re a bit hit-or-miss.
Despite AF’s shaky display against the league’s worst team, they are still the better side here. We expected them to be priced closer to $1.60 (with the top esports betting sites), which makes this a no-brainer pick for us.
DRX vs NONGSHIN RED FORCE LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|

Event: | League of Legends LCL |

When: | January 20, 2021 at 20:00 KST |

Nongshin RedForce lost their most recent league fixture against DWG KIA which was expected, however we have to note that RedForce’s mid laner Park “Bay” Jun-byeong continues to disappoint in his debut as a pro. Based on his performance so far, it seems like he won’t be able to keep up with other mid laners in the league including DRX’s Song “SOLKA” Su-hyeong.
DRX are arguably one of the weakest teams in this League of Legends league, but they perform much better than expected. DRX’s biggest problem is their inability to gain leads on their own, however, they are fairly efficient in closing out games when given the opportunity.
Taking advantage of RedForce’s weaknesses (mid) will be crucial for DRX’s success and we are confident jungler Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon is aware of that. This seems more like an underdog or nothing type of match and at these odds and so early into the season, it’s hard not to take shot on DRX.

Nongshim RedForce (formerly Team Dynamics) had what you could call a solid rebrand and they did not need long to make quite a statement by reaching the grand finals of KeSPA Cup 2020. Much of their success came down to the performances of their new jungler Han “Peanut” Wang-ho, who has proven once more that he is an underrated player and still one of the best junglers in the league.
Unlike RedForce who enter the season with many new faces, Liiv SANDBOX (formerly SANDBOX Gaming) decided to run it back from 2020, which is not particularly bad considering they had a solid run towards the end of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer. The only change on their starting roster is ex-T1 support Lee “Effort” Sang-ho and it seems like the only reason Liiv SANDBOX signed him is because Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun retired.
Nongshim RedForce come off as a stronger team, but Liiv SANDBOX are not a squad you should write off entirely. We rank these two teams very close and feel like the betting odds are set solely due to RedForce’s impressive run at the KeSPA Cup, where they arguably overperformed. At these odds, betting on SANDBOX is not a bad choice, but it makes more sense to place our money on over 2.5 maps.
DRX vs AFREECA FREECS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

LoL odds: | DRX +104 at BetOnline | AF -138.89 at BetOnline |

DRX enter the 2021 season with Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon as the only remaining player from last season. Since DRX lost all of their star players, it’s fair to say they won’t shine as bright as they did in 2020 and unless the meta shifts back in favour of carry junglers, there is even a world where DRX fail to finish above ninth.
While we are not convinced with DRX’s new project, the opposite holds true for Afreeca Freecs, who have made a couple of big signings. Their most notable signing was support Son “Lehends” Si-woo who is arguably the biggest upgrade any team could have made.
These teams last met three weeks ago during the KeSPA Cup, when DRX claimed an upset win, however, it seems highly unlikely AF will take the league matches as lightly as their KeSPa Cup fixtures. We wouldn’t be surprised if Afreeca manage to sweep the depleted DRX, but we will settle for a safer bet.

]]>The post T1 vs Afreeca Freecas betting predictions – LCK Summer 2020 appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Afreeca Freecs will meet with T1 for the second time this split on Thursday during the ninth week of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer regular season.
T1 enter the penultimate week of the LCK 2020 Summer with a 11-4 record, which guarantees them a top-five finish and a spot in the playoffs. Even though it’s unlikely they will win the regular-season title this time out given how dominant DragonX and DAMWON Gaming have been this split, T1 have a history of performing well late in the schedule.
After a somewhat shaky start of the LCK Summer and the humiliating 0-2 loss to Gen.G in Week 5, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and his team switched into a higher gear and now head into their 16th game of the split on a five-game winning streak after beating Hanwha Life Esports (1-2), KT Rolster (2-0), SANDBOX Gaming (2-0), SeolHaeOne Prince (2-0) and Team Dynamics (2-0).
T1 have looked like a completely different beast across the last three weeks. While the Korean juggernauts still have many things they need to improve before we can talk about their 10th LCK title, there is no hiding the fact that Faker and co. are the hottest team in Korea besides DAMWON, who reside at the top of the standings with a seven-game winning streak.
Surprisingly enough, T1’s resurgence came only after they replaced Faker with Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon, who looked exceptional in T1’s last three bouts. He averaged a 5.4 KDA against SANDBOX and SeolHaeOne Prince, and managed an infinite KDA against Dynamics (6/0/7). Clozer has not done it alone, however, as his four teammates all averaged double-digit KDAs in T1’s last three games.

Afreeca Freecs sit in fifth place wiht an 8-6 record, two wins ahead of KT Rolster and SANDBOX. While their eight wins put them in a great spot to lock in a playoff berth, Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun still have a lot to prove across the next two weeks.
Looking back at their results across the last two weeks, Afreeca Freecs had no issues defeating Hanwha Life (2-0) and Team Dynamics (2-1) but had to kneel to DRX (0-2). Those results more or less sum up the identity of this team throughout the split, as they have crushed the weaker sides while struggling to match the likes of DAMWON, DRX, Gen.G and T1.
Afreeca Freecs last met with T1 during Week 2 of the LCK Summer, where they took the series lead but were trounced in the next two maps as T1 won with +19k and +15.9k gold differentials respectively.
Afreeca Freecs are by no means a terrible team, but they can hardly compare to top LCK teams such as T1. That is even more apparent now that T1 have hit their stride in the back half of the campaign.
T1 have looked iffy at times due to their poor drafts and occasional slumps from their star players. Now, however, they appear to have fixed a majority of their issues both on and off the Summoner’s Rift.
T1 lost one map against Afreeca Freecs in their first meeting, but recent form suggests they should have no issues walking away from this match with a fifth consecutive sweep.

]]>Afreeca Freecs and Hanwha Life Esports will clash in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer Split this Thursday in their first meeting in over two months.
Afreeca Freecs started their campaign strong with wins against SANDBOX Gaming (2-0) and Team Dynamics (2-1), but they failed to show up last week when they lost to T1 (1-2) and DragonX (0-2). Although a 0-2 week does not inspire much optimism, Choi “iloveoov” Yeon-sung’s squad faced two of the strongest teams in the league and were far from embarrassed.
Afreeca took the series lead in their match against T1, which is an accomplishment on its own. Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun and his team also showed strong resistance in game three, but they eventually had to admit defeat due to T1’s superior macro play.
Nor was the loss to DragonX as one-sided as the scoreline would appear to suggest. While game one was pretty straightforward, Afreeca Freecs came close to derailing Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu in game two but were slightly unlucky again.
Overall, it would not be fair to criticise Afreeca Freecs given they had a very tough schedule in Week 2. On a positive note, things can only go up in Week 3 and Week 4 when Mystic and co. are Hanwha Life, KT Rolster, DAMWON Gaming and SeolHaeOne Prince.

With all due respect, there are not a lot of positives to take from Hanwha Life’s performances so far this split. Despite a fairly soft draw to start LCK Summer 2020, Kim “Lava” Tae-hoon and his team enter Week 3 with a 0-4 record. The loss to T1 was expected, but their failures against SeolHaeOne Prince (1-2), KT Rolster (0-2) and Team Dynamics (0-2) are cause for concern.
The only Hanwha player who performed at all in the loss to Dynamics last Friday was ADC Park “Viper” Do-hyeon, who joined from Griffin in the offseason. He finished the series with the highest KDA in his team (4.0), but even that is a disappointing return since he was faced with a rookie opponent in Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil.
The most important takeaway from that day was the performances of top laner Lee “CuVee” Seong-jin and jungler Kang “Haru” Min-seung, who ended the series with 0.4 and 0.7 KDA figures respectively. To make matters worse, CuVee played against Lee “Rich” Jae-won, who only recently transitioned to the top lane after spending his entire career as a mid laner.
Clearly, Hanwha Life have a lot of issues to sort out. While they have a 10-man roster at their disposal, that does not mean much when the only solid player on the team is the recently signed Viper.
The only thing Hanwha Life Esports have going for them is their bottom lane, and even there, Afreeca Freecs will have an answer ready with Mystic.
Viper is performing better than Mystic in terms of raw stats, but the difference is marginal. While Viper has managed a 4.63 KDA, 10.99 CSPM and 77.9% KPAR, Mystic has put up a 4.62 KDA, 10.22 CSPM and 77.6% KPAR. Again, we have to take into consideration that Mystic’s numbers have come against significantly stronger opponents than what Viper has faced.
There is nothing that leads us to believe Hanwha Life can walk away with anything this Thursday. Even if Viper manages to come out ahead, the rest of his team is so weak that Afreeca Freecs will have more than one win condition to utilise.

]]>Afreeca Freecs will look to keep their perfect record alive this Friday when they meet with T1 during the second week of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer Split.
Afreeca Freecs have won two from two to sit atop the LCK leaderboard alongside DAMWON Gaming and DragonX. They kicked things off with a 2-0 win over SANDBOX Gaming and a followed up with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over league newcomers Team Dynamics, who won the opening match of that series.
Although Afreeca Freecs still have a lot more to prove, we cannot ignore how well Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun has been playing. The 25-year-old ADC is averaging the second-highest KDA (20.3) in the league and has solidified himself as the main carry of his team. Despite receiving only 26.5% of the gold share, Mystic deals 38.7% of his team’s damage on average and holds an impressive 76.1% KPAR, which is the second-highest kill participation percentage out of all ADC mains in the LCK.
Having said that, top laner Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, jungler Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon and mid laner Song “Fly” Yong-jun all deserve some praise as well. While they don’t boast such impressive figures as Mystic, all three are ranked among the best-performing players in their respective roles. How much their high marks mean will become clear when Afreeca Freecs take on the reigning LCK champions this week.

T1 had a slow start of their LCK 2020 Summer campaign, suffering a 1-2 defeat to DragonX in their opening game. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and his crew also struggled in parts against Hanwha Life, but they did enough to secure a 2-1 victory.
Although that form is not exactly something to write home about, it’s worth noting that T1 decided to try out their substitute support, Choi “Kuri” Won-yeong, for the first two games against Hanwha. Kuri failed to show up on that day and finished with a disappointing 0/7/9 record and 1.3 KDA. His poor showing saw Lee “Effort” Sang-ho switched in for the final game of the series, which proved a solid move.
Unlike Afreeca Freecs, who rely on Mystic to do most of the work, T1 have three players who do their fair share. Top laner Kim “Canna” Chang-dong is averaging 7.0 KDA and 25.4% damage share, mid laner Faker is averaging 4.9 KDA and 24.4% damage share, and ADC Park “Teddy” Jin-seong is averaging 5.1 KDA and 27.9% damage share.
It’s also worth noting that although Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan’s 3.8 KDA and 14.3% damage share are hardly eye-catching, he has played a pivotal role in his team’s success with his deep champion pool and map pressure.
Stats-wise, there is not a lot to set these teams apart. T1 tend to have much better vision control and farming strategy, while Afreeca Freecs have a more aggressive playstyle and slightly better objective control.
Afreeca Freecs enter this match in better form, but they have yet to face a high-calibre team this split. T1, on the other, have already tested their mettle against DragonX – one of the strongest teams in the division.
T1 should win this one, but there is reason to believe Mystic will cause them some issues. There is definitely value in backing Afreeca Freecs to win a map and cover their +1.5 handicap.

]]>The 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Split is set to kick off this Tuesday as Afreeca Freecs and SANDBOX Gaming lock horns for the first time since March.
SANDBOX Gaming clawed their way back into the top tier through the LCK 2020 Summer Promotion series following their ninth-place finish in LCK 2020 Spring. While they lost their opening fixture of the promotion series against Team Dynamic (0-2), SANDBOX made easy work of Griffin (2-0) and Seorabeol Gaming (3-0) in the final round.
The team opted for a plethora of changes after their poor performance in the Spring Split. Coaches Kang “Laden” Byung-ho, Shin “Coco” Jin-yeong and Song “Morning” Chang-geun all left in April and were replaced by Choi “DooTi” Du-seong, Jeong “FanTaSy” Myeong-hoon, and ex-support Cho “Joker” Jae-eup.
SANDBOX decided to further expand their coaching panel in May with the signing of Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi, who became the first Western coach to join a Korean LoL team. They also made one roster change in the off-season, acquiring former Griffin support Jeong “Kabbie” Sang-hyeon (formerly known as “Irove”).
Although SANDBOX have not made any major roster changes since the last split, their 10-man squad and seven trainee players ensure they have plenty of options. Having said that, they still don’t have a superstar around whom they can play.

The two ADCs in Han “Leo” Gyeo-re and Moon “Route” Geom-su both had solid Spring Splits, although they failed to produce any outstanding numbers. The same can be said for jungler Son “Punch” Min-hyuk. All of SANDBOX’s players have shown potential, however, and only time will tell how high this team’s ceiling is.
Afreeca Freecs ended LCK Spring in sixth place with a 7-11 record. Although Kim “Kim” Gi-in and co. did not make it into the post-season, they were only two wins short in what was one of the most competitive LCK splits we have seen in a while.
That said, Afreeca Freecs also deserve some criticism for their poor performances in the final weeks of the split. In their last six games, they beat the sinking Griffin but suffered losses against APK Prince, DAMWON Gaming, Hanwha Life, Kingzone DragonX and T1.
Afreeca Freecs did not make any roster changes to their main team in the off-season, instead deciding to expand their trainee team with the acquisition of support Kim “MapSSi” Do-yeong and an unknown top laner in “??????love”. Apart from that, Afreeca Freecs also acquired former Kongdoo Monster, Clutch Gaming and Dignitas coach Han “Rigby” Earl.
This team has a few bright talents in the roster, namely top laner Kim “Kiin” Gi-in and jungler Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon. They both put up strong numbers in the last split and will hope to start LCK Summer 2020 in similar fashion.
These teams met twice last split. Afreeca Freecs won the first meeting 2-1 in Week 3 but suffered a 0-2 loss in the rematch in Week 6. While that defeat came at the time when Afreeca were struggling, that is no excuse for losing to one of the worst teams in the split.
SANDBOX enter this match as massive underdogs, but that does not necessarily mean they will go down without a fight. This team has the players to perform at this level and the change in coaching personnel should help them realise their potential.
Bringing in a former LEC coach will likely see SANDBOX change up their playstyle, which could take a few LCK teams by surprise. We are not ready to side with YamataoCannon’s side before we see them in action, but they should at least make Afreeca Freecs work for the win and force the series to three maps.
