Las Vegas Legion have made significant progress during CDL 2024 Major 2 Qualifiers, ending the online stage in fifth place with a 5-2 record. They rounded out the qualifiers with a solid week, beating Seattle Surge and Carolina Royal Ravens.

The Legion have proven themselves as one of the more consistent bottom-eight teams in the league, but it remains to be seen how they’ll do against the top contenders in Miami.

Toronto Ultra are one of the top-four teams in the CDL, but like Atlanta FaZe, they’ve not looked good on Search & Destroy. On respawns, Toronto Ultra tends to take care of business, but so does Las Vegas Legion, so the winner of this match is not as clear as the CoD esports betting odds might suggest.

Las Vegas Legion can be a bit inconsistent and has a lower ceiling than Toronto Ultra. However, out of the elite four teams, Toronto Ultra are also the most flawed, so it’s not entirely unlikely for the Legion to take a map or two on Thursday.

Boston Breach finished CDL 2024 Major 2 Qualifiers 3-4, with defeats against Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Texas, Las Vegas Legion, and the New York Subliners. They secured a nice 3-0 victory against Seattle Surge in the final round of the qualifiers, but besides trashing weaker sides, the Breach haven’t looked amazing.

Boston Breach already lost this match in the second week of the online stage quite badly. The Subliners have since not slowed down, so expecting the rematch to go differently seems too optimistic.

New York Subliners are a stronger side, and they’re up against a team that doesn’t have the talent to compete for top spots, nor is Boston Breach a very good LAN squad. We can expect another quick 3-0 on Thursday.

Miami Heretics secured a spot in the winners’ bracket by the skin of their teeth. They were 0-5 ahead of the penultimate round of the online stage and then won their final two series against Carolina Royal Ravens and Minnesota R?KKR. But even that doesn’t count for much.

Miami Heretics have given us very little to feel excited about, and their rough losses against any team above them in the standings prove that the Heretics aren’t ready to produce a deep run on LAN.

OpTic Texas completed online qualifiers with a perfect 7-0 record and a 68% map win rate. This puts them on top of the list of serious CDL 2024 Major 2 title contenders, even though they had to grind out game-five victories against the Subliners and Toronto Ultra.

OpTic Texas is known for choking on LAN and is still capable of crashing out of CDL 2024 Major 2. But it’s tough to believe they’ll struggle to beat Miami Heretics.

Like the Las Vegas Legion, Los Angeles Thieves have shown immense improvement during the online stage. They ended the qualifiers in sixth place with a 4-3 record and only three losses against Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Texas, and Toronto Ultra. On the other side, the Thieves picked up wins against Miami Heretics, Minnesota R?KKR, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and Las Vegas Legion.

Los Angeles Thieves performed well against any team below them, but they have not looked good on control throughout the online stage, which seems to be their biggest weakness.

Atlanta FaZe suffered a shocking loss against Los Angeles Guerrillas on Sunday, which might not mean much in the greater picture; however, it highlights that FaZe are still not at 100%. They posted good results in the qualifiers, but Atlanta FaZe haven’t looked comfortable on Search & Destroy.

Atlanta FaZe should win, but Los Angeles Thieves should be able to take a bite out of them.

Los Angeles Guerrillas enter CDL Major 2 with a 2-3 record from the qualifiers, with wins against Los Angeles Thieves (3-1) and Minnesota R?KKR (3-1), which is nothing to sneeze at. Toronto Ultra are a very solid team, with only one minor issue – they tend to be shaky in game fives. But outside of that, the Ultra look like the main contender to win the second Major. They have the talent, a strong map pool, and are very consistent across all three game modes.

Toronto Ultra have an excellent chance to go all the way, and it’s highly unlikely that Los Angeles Guerrillas will stop them.

OpTic Texas suffered a shock loss against Las Vegas Legion (1-3) in the final week of qualifiers but then picked up a nice win against Atlanta FaZe to finish CDL Major 2 Qualifier with a 4-1 record. Overall, OpTic have been playing well, with the form they’re currently in, they look capable of beating any team in the league.

Los Angeles Thieves ended the qualifiers with a fairly poor 2-3 record, but they ended it on a high note – with a victory (3-2) against Boston Breach. The main thing to take away from the Thieves’ games is that their Control is solid, but they’re still lacking in Search & Destroy.

Unsurprisingly, Los Angeles Thieves are priced as underdogs for this bout, but this is a decent squad that is slowly finding its way. Moreover, we can be sure that the Thieves will enter this bout well-prepared and should make life hard for OpTic.
