]]>According to reports, Chet “Chet” Singh, OpTic Gamings head coach, has tested positive for covid.
?
Chet made the announcement himself via his Twitter page, quoting a Riot Games announcement that shed light on the provisions put in place for infected players.
Chet disclosed that he was yet to recover. However, some members of 100 Thieves and the tournament organisers supplied items he would need to “get through this”.
?
“I tested positive for COVID 2-3 days ago, definitely very unfortunate circumstances, but Riot and also some members of 100T have provided stuff for me to get through this,” he wrote.
“Wasn’t able to recover at all so far, but I will get through this.”
?
In a follow-up tweet, Chet went on to apologise to his teammates and fans, claiming the outcome was entirely his fault and that he should have been much more cautious. He concluded by saying that he hoped his absence would not have a negative impact on the teams chances of winning.

In a post by Riot Games, the Valorant developer explained the importance placed on the health and well-being of players and staff present at the Valorant Champions in Istanbul. They revealed that in the course of the mandatory testing of players, the OpTic coach was discovered to be infected.
?
Riot Games further divulged that in cases where players test positive, they would be allowed to participate in the event only if they feel up to it. A separate gaming venue for the infected player would be prepared in an isolation facility and the player could join in on the match via a built-in LAN network.
The rest of the players team, as well as the opposing squad, would play from the original gaming venue.

100 Thieves also recorded several cases among their ranks since arriving in Istanbul for the tournament. The general manager of the teams Valorant lineup, Daniel “DDK” Kapadia, went online to explain that four of the American esports team players and coaches were down with the virus a few days ago.
He, however, reassured fans that they were well on their way to recovery and would most likely participate in the Valorant Champions.
?
The 2022 Valorant Champions is currently being held in Istanbul, where 16 of the top teams from different regions are competing for the $1 million prize pool. The event is the third and final tournament of the VCT 2022 season.
The group stage kicked off on August 31 and will continue until September 8, after which the playoffs will be held from September 9 to September 18.

Their next outing will come against LOUD in the winners match, with the Brazilian franchise pegged as close favourites on esports betting sites with $1.83 odds as opposed to the $1.91 assigned to OpTic.

]]>The post 100 Thieves sign ex-Evil Geniuses head coach ImAPet appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The 23-year-old coach picks up the reins from Serbian strategist Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovi?, who parted ways with 100T last month after close to 21 months with the Australian roster.
Confirming the news in a Twitlonger post, ImAPet revealed he was contemplating leaving CS:GO and transitioning to VALORANT, as many other professional players and coaches have already done, when the offer from 100 Thieves relit his love for the game.
“Today starts a new chapter in my life. I was teamless in a pretty scary time, where Corona has pretty much limited a lot of CSGO opportunities and opportunities given werent exactly what I would call living up to my expectations,” said ImAPet.
“Thankfully, I gave it enough time and didnt sign my life away to Valorant where I was able to find a squad that I have a lot of faith in and they seem to have the same for me, so thank you, 100 Thieves, for the opportunity to let me jump back into competitive CS.”
ImAPet’s arrival will mark the first addition to the former Renegades squad since October 2018, when they re-signed kassad as coach after he spent four months at Valiance (now CR4ZY). The current playing roster was formed in September 2018, when Renegades signed Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai and Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas. That was more than a year before 100 Thieves bought out the squad in December 2019.
ImAPet started his esports career as an analyst for Counter Logic Gaming in August 2016 at only 19 years of age. In December the same year, he was promoted to head coach and helped CLG secure bronze at Americas Minor Championship – Krakw 2017 and DreamHack Open Summer 2017 before moving to OpTic Gaming in July 2017.
After a 10-month stint with OpTic, ImAPet joined NRG Esports, where he established himself as one of the most talented young coaches in the Counter-Strike esports scene. He helped the team win Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Shanghai, cs_summit 3, Americas Minor Championship – Katowice 2019 and Americas Minor Championship – Berlin 2019, while they also reached the semi-finals of StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.
Shortly after the Berlin Major, NRG’s entire squad was signed by Evil Geniuses, where ImAPet continued to build his renown with titles at ESL One: New York 2019 and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8 as well as a top-four finish at the Esports Championship Series Season 8 Finals.
Despite his immense success throughout 2019, ImAPet was relieved of his duties as Evil Geniuses head coach in April following an internal conflict with the team’s in-game leader, Peter stanislaw Jarguz and Tarik tarik Celik.
With ImAPet at the helm, 100 Thieves will hope to turn things around after a long period of shaky performances in online matches. Those struggles were highlighted when they finished fifth at ESL Pro League Season 11 and sixth at ESL One: Road to Rio.
ImAPet said the atmosphere at 100T “feels like the old NRG environment back in the day” and explained that his new team will be entering an experimental phase. The coach will try out a variety of new strategies in a bid to push his Aussie charges back into the top 10 in the CS:GO world rankings.
ImAPets debut with his new team came on Tuesday, when 100 Thieves defeated Gen.G in the opening fixture of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: North America. Their next match will come on Thursday, when 100T are slated to meet with Cloud9, while their final fixture of the group stage will see the new coach clash with his last employers, Evil Geniuses, on Friday.

]]>The news follows reports of an alleged conflict between ImAPet and two of his players: in-game leader Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and Tarik “tarik” Celik. His departure is the first change for the North American esports organisation since they acquired the ex-NRG roster back in September 2019.
ImAPet began his journey with EG’s roster back in May 2018 when he joined NRG following his departure from OpTic Gaming. In nearly two years at the helm he led his crew to several impressive accolades, including titles at ESL One: New York 2019, ESL Pro League Season 10 Americas and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8, a semi-final appearance at StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, and first place in the CS:GO world rankings.
Things turned sour for the squad in November when they crashed out of both Intel Extreme Masters XIV Beijing and CS:GO Asia Championships 2019 in fifth-sixth place. Although Evil Geniuses showed a glimpse of greatness in late November and December, when they finished top four at the Esports Championship Series Season 8 Finals and EPICENTER 2019, it was clear the team had lost a lot of their momentum.
Evil Geniuses have failed to make any real noise in 2020, finishing seventh-ninth in the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Regular Season and ninth-12th at the Intel Extreme Masters XIV World Championship. That mediocre form has seen EG drop down to seventh place in the world rankings – the lowest they have sat since their re-entry into the Counter-Strike scene.
“Today we say goodbye to our CS:GO coach Chet,” read Evil Geniuses’ announcement.
“Since joining EG in September, he has provided amazing support to our team leading us to multiple 1st place finishes.”
After the announcement surfaced, ImAPet took to Twitter to give some insight on the situation.
“Its no secret my relationship with Stan and tarik was absolutely horrendous,” ImAPet said.
“I dont know what I could trust from them in multiple 1on1s nor did I agree with how we were changing the team strategically when we were all discussing what direction we needed to take to improve our consistency.
“There was a lot of hypocrisy on the team on certain cultural beliefs and views on the game.”
Evil Geniuses have yet to unveil a new head coach, while ImAPet is yet to decide on his next move in the Counter-Strike esports scene.
