The post Rekkles listed as T1 substitute for 2024 LoL World Championship appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>LoL Worlds’ Pick’Em returned on Wednesday, September 18, one week before the League of Legends World Championship 2024 Play-In stage opening game.
Giving the fans a chance to test their knowledge and claim in-game cosmetic items, Pick’Em highlighted an exciting detail involving Rekkles.

— Molecule (@MoleculeLOL) September 18, 2024
The former Fnatic star ADC is listed as T1 support for the LoL World Championship, which indicates the possibility of the 27-year-old being involved as a substitute for Ryu “Keria” Min-seok.
The player or the organisation have yet to confirm the information; however, Rekkles’ inclusion in the official LoL Worlds 2024 Pick’Em roster all but confirms he will join T1 on their trip to Europe.
Mainly known for his time at Fnatic as the organisation’s star ADC, the Swede left the region in December 2023 to join T1’s Academy roster.
Despite not being given a chance to appear in Korea’s top league, Rekkles enjoyed a successful debut season with his new team and helped T1 Academy place fourth in the LCK Challenger League 2024 Summer Playoffs.
Rekkles’ lack of involvement with the main lineup does not take away from the possibility of T1 bringing him along on their quest to defend the world championship title.
Yet his role within a team remains uncertain and could be limited to only scrims and an emergency call-up.
In an unlikely scenario where Rekkles replaces Keira as the starting support for T1, LoL Worlds 2024 would mark his seventh appearance on the biggest stage and the first since 2020, when Rekkles helped Fnatic reach the quarterfinals in China.
T1 travels to Europe with a lot to prove following their lacklustre showing in the latter stages of LCK season.
Despite winning the Esports World Cup 2024, the Korean juggernauts struggled to keep up domestically and qualified for the LoL Worlds by the skin of their teeth after placing second in the LCK 2024 Regional Finals.
Priced at +800 with League of Legends betting sites, T1 is tied with LNG Esports as the fifth-favourite in the outright betting markets, behind Top Esports, Hanwha Life Esports, and two top contenders in Bilibili Gaming and Gen.G.
LoL Worlds 2024 kicks off on Wednesday, September 28, with the first series of the play-in stage before the main stage begins on October 3.

]]>T1 and Dplus KIA will begin their chase for the final League of Legends World Championship 2024 ticket on Thursday, September 12, in the first round of the LoL Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Regional Finals. They last clashed in the losers’ bracket of the LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs, when T1 won in four maps.
Top League of Legends betting sites have priced T1 as -238.1 favourites — a bit shorter than their last clash with Dplus KIA, when T1 closed at -188.68. Considering how that series played out, it is a relatively small price change.
T1 have not looked great this split. They’ve lost the clutch factor, seem to struggle with communication, and even individually, they are not at the level you would expect the Esports World Cup 2024 champions to be.
Dplus KIA have also produced concerning results in the final split of the season. Heo “ShowMaker” Su and co. have played several games where they look incredible before collapsing when it matters most, and this trend has become a real concern.
There are cases to be made for Dplus KIA at plus money due to their high ceiling and T1’s lacklustre form. However, the reigning world champions have improved enough in recent series to warrant taking their side in the map handicap market.

]]>Hanwha Life Esports and T1 will lock horns on Saturday, September 7, in the lower-bracket final in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. Hanwha Life won when these two clashed in the second round, and according to the LoL betting sites, the rematch should not end any differently.
Hanwha Life Esports made easy work of T1 at the end of August, beating the Korean juggernauts in three maps. T1 struggled on the day, with weird drafts and poor execution, but most notably, the players did not seem like they were on the same page.
On a more positive note, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. performed much better against Dplus KIA in the last round, when it seemed like they had figured some things out.
Hanwha Life Esports lost to Gen.G in the LCK upper-bracket finals but performed surprisingly well.
Two games were close and could have ended either way, but the other two were closer to one-way traffic. While HLE could not make it over the finish line, it mostly had to do with the fact that Gen.G are simply that good.
The decision of whether or not to back T1 in this contest comes down to how much their improved showing against Dplus KIA means. While it was a solid display, T1 have been struggling more than expected for months now, so it is fair to assume T1 are not the same team from earlier in the season.
On the other side, Hanwha Life Esports are still the same counter-punching team — a style which should not work against any elite squad. Yet they performed against Gen.G on two of the four maps, and knowing how flawed T1 are, HLE could make it work again.
T1 can turn on at any point, but if we look at the bigger picture, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho and his crew have been the better team over the last two months.

The 20th season of the Counter-Strike 2 ESL Pro League will also commence this week, with action from Group A starting on September 3.
Meanwhile, the Korean (LCK) and North American (LCS) League of Legends summer splits will conclude this weekend.
The International is the most prestigious Dota 2 event on the calendar, with 16 of the world’s best teams taking their place in the two-week event.
Although the prize pool for The International is no longer as big as the US$40 million we have seen in the past, it is expected that the 2024 edition of the tournament will boast over US$3,000,000.
Esports betting sites have marked Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit as +300 equal favourites to claim the title, with Team Falcons (+333) sitting on the second line of betting.

ESL Pro League Season 20 will run from September 3-22 in Saint Julian’s, Malta, with 32 CS2 teams participating in the US$750,000 event.
The group stage will run for the first two weeks before the playoffs begin on September 17, culminating with the best-of-five grand final on September 22.
BetOnline has Team Vitality marked as the +300 favourite to take home the ESL Pro League title, but they are closely followed by Natus Vincere (+333) and Team Spirit (+350).

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) will conclude this week, with the lower bracket final between FlyQuest and 100 Thieves set to be played on Friday, September 6.
The winner of the lower final will clash with Team Liquid in the grand final on the following day, with the winner taking home the LCS Summer 2024 title.

Hanwha Life Esports and T1 will clash in the lower bracket final on Saturday, September 7, with the winner earning the right to face the league-leading Gen.G in the grand final.
Gen.G has only lost four maps throughout the LCK Summer split, and they are considered by many as the overwhelming favourites to take out their fifth consecutive LCK title.

]]>Dplus KIA and T1 will lock horns on Sunday, September 1, in the second round Losers’ Bracket in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. The fixture will offer the teams one final chance to claw their way onto the big stage and compete for the LCK trophy, and according to the esports betting odds, T1 is in a better spot to accomplish that feat.
The top LoL betting sites have priced T1 as -166.67 favourites to walk away with a win, about the same number we got on this series at the end of July. The Esports World Cup 2024 champions won that game 2-1, but they arguably did not deserve to.
It was a tragic loss for Dplus KIA, but not the first game which ended in the same fashion C Dplus KIA getting themselves into advantageous positions only to slip in critical moments. This has been plaguing Heo “ShowMaker” Su and his crew’s run through the summer split, so why would it be any different this weekend?
Despite Dplus KIA’s slip-ups, T1 are not in the best shape ahead of this match. They did not look too convincing against KT Rolster in round one of the playoffs, and even less so in their 0-3 loss against Hanwha Life Esports. On the other side, Dplus KIA suffered the same tough loss against Gen.G in the previous round.
If we isolate performance metrics only from the playoffs, T1 comes out ahead, but that is hardly a good enough reason to take their side of this contest. Dplus KIA remain a competitive team who have to figure out their late game, whereas T1 are just sloppy and look very vulnerable.
This could be a very competitive game that extends to five maps.

]]>Hanwha Life Esports got paired with T1 for the second round of League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. Yet despite T1’s history in LCK playoffs, they enter this match priced as underdogs with the top League of Legends betting sites.
T1 closed as underdogs at -112.36 in their last meeting with Hanwha Life Esports during the regular season and -142.86 favourites in the LCK 2024 Spring Playoffs series. Now, the Esports World Cup 2024 champions hold much longer odds, at +154, giving them a 39.4% implied probability of winning the series.
That isn’t shocking, considering T1 haven’t had the best run over the last few weeks. Even in their victory over KT Rolster in the first round of the playoffs, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. showed very little.
T1 outperformed KT Rolster on the third and fourth maps, but they had some hiccups, making it evident that T1 need to sort some things out if they want a real run against Hanwha Life Esports this week. All this sounds highly concerning, but we know that T1 can switch on at any time, so it would not be too shocking to see them find traction on Thursday.
Hanwha Life Esports made a name for themselves as a squad who will run over any weaker team but consistently struggle against the elite few C due to their counter-punching playstyle. However, they put that theory under a question mark this split by producing competitive games against Gen.G, T1, and Dplus KIA.
Some of it had to do with the fact that Dplus KIA and T1 have not been in the best shape; however, it is not like much has changed. Nevertheless, it still does not sound right seeing Hanwha Life Esports priced as -204.08 favourites for this match.
Betting against T1 is hoping they will not wake up which can happen, like it did in the past playoffs. So, while Hanwha Life Esports deserve respect for what they have shown this split, T1 at the offered LoL betting odds are very hard to pass on.
A smaller position on T1 to win with at least two maps to spare is also worth a look.

]]>The defending League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 champions, Gen.G, picked Dplus KIA as their opponents in the second round of the LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs, hoping to emulate their success from the regular season. According to the LoL betting odds, the clash on Wednesday, August 28, should end like the last two meetings.
Gen.G are priced as firm favourites to defeat the 2020 world champions, which is not too shocking given their phenomenal display throughout the summer split. As Gen.G have already proven their worth, the only question for this series is whether Dplus KIA have the tools to upset the current hottest League of Legends esports team in the region.
Heo “ShowMaker” Su and co. enter the second round of the playoffs following a 3-1 victory against BNK FearX, where they displayed just how much the individual quality of the players matters.
BNK FearX did throw the second map with a poor early game and questionable transition into the mid and late game. The underdogs came away with the third game after some back-and-forth but got stomped on map four to lose 1-3.
Realistically, Dplus KIA could have lost at least two maps on the day, but they were much more efficient at closing out games due to the individual performances of the star players. Overall, a solid display from Dplus KIA, yet they can not expect Gen.G to make it as easy for them to gain leads early or take advantage of mistakes to turn the games in later stages.
The last time these two teams met, Dplus KIA closed as +354 underdogs. Yet despite picking up a map, their implied probability of upsetting Gen.G on Wednesday remains low at 18.6%, with the top LoL betting sites.
This is a very low number for a fixture between two elite teams, considering Gen.G’s regular season stats were not significantly better than Dplus KIA’s. The outsiders also came close to sweeping Gen.G in LCK 2024 Summer Week 5, and even though DK’s results have been a bit all over the place since, they have the talent to take a bite out of Gen.G on Wednesday.
At -166.67 on Dplus KIA to win a map, they are hard to pass on. A smaller position on +1.5 at close to +200 is worth a look, too.

]]>T1 and KT Rolster will meet on the Summoner’s Rift on Saturday, August 23, in the first round of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. They last clashed in the sixth week of the regular season, when T1 won, and according to the LoL betting odds, the rematch should end no differently.
Top League of Legends betting sites have priced T1 as -357.14 favourites, which should not come as a surprise. Even though the reigning LoL world champions did not have the most stable run through the regular season, they found more momentum in the final stages, beating OKSavingsBank BRION, Kwangdong Freecs, and BNK FearX.
KT Rolster placed fifth in the regular season with a 9-9 record, slightly worse than T1. More importantly, they won two of their last three series as betting underdogs against Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports.
KT Rolster typically do well against stronger teams, while they underdeliver when heavily favoured. It didn’t help them defeat T1 in their last meeting; however, at -111.11 to keep the series within one map, the outsiders are worth a look.
T1 have a significantly higher ceiling than KT Rolster, which they proved in May when Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. won the Esports World Cup 2024 in Saudi Arabia. Still, they enter the LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs in shaky form.
KT Rolster have posted solid performance figures this split, especially if looking at only their games against top opposition. While this is still T1’s game to lose, this version of T1 is one of the worst we have seen since this lineup came together.

The first of the top line titles to go ahead will be the League of Legends Esports World Cup tournament, which will feature eight of the best LoL teams from the top four leagues around the world.
League of Legends will make its debut in Saudi Arabia after one of the world’s biggest and most played titles wasn’t invited to the Gamers8 festival in 2022 and 2023.
However, once the Esports World Cup was announced, League of Legends was quickly added to the list of tournaments and a prize pool of US$1 million was attached to the four-day-long competition.
Eight teams received direct invites, with two teams from each of the LPL, LCK, LEC and LCS taking their place in Riyadh.
Top esports betting sites have the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational champions, Gen.G, marked as their clear favourite at -125 in the “To Win Ouright” market, followed by Bilibili Gaming (+250) and T1 (+550) to claim the LoL Esports World Cup title.

Instead of comparing the team’s raw quality and potential, the question for this LoL Champions Korea fixture is whether Hanwha Life Esports deserve to be priced as such massive favourites.
The teams have not made any significant roster changes since LCK 2024 Spring, so it’s fair to mention that Hahwna Life Esport swept OKSavingsBank BRION at the start of March. But this doesn’t mean they deserve to be given nearly 70% implied probability to sweep.
While an elite team, Hanwha Life Esports have a weird, counter-punching style of play, which usually works against weaker teams. But OKSavingsBank BRION have looked competitive so far this split, with two three-map series against DRX and Kwangdong Freecs.
OKSavingsBank BRION have looked better than expected this split, and while this doesn’t mean they have a realistic chance to defeat Hanwha Life Esports, BRION at +166 with the best esports betting sites to pocket a map on Friday is a very generous offer.

T1 are an elite squad and serious candidates to win the LCK 2024 Summer trophy. But at the offered price, we would be overpaying to see T1 defeat what looks to be a much-improved version of Kwangdong Freecs.
Even though T1 have Kwangdong Freecs’ number this season, with two 2-0 sweeps from the spring split, Kwangdong Freecs are in good form. They’ve beaten KT Rolster, OKSavingsBank BRION and Nongshim RedForce without problems.
While clearly a competent team, Kwangdong Freecs have random games where they look asleep. But they’ve produced just as many elite-level performances.
Kwangdong Freecs can be a bit inconsistent, but this number is too good to ignore.
