Like Vitality, G2 Esports failed to impress their fans in their opening match of the playoffs, as they fell against Fnatic (1-3) in what was a fairly one-sided affair. In their defence, Fnatic were -250 favourites with LoL betting sites for that bout and are undeniably a much better team. But it’s important to note that Fnatic won because they have better individual talent and not so much because of their decision making.

This is important to consider since Vitality are not known for their decision-making. Instead, they are stronger than half of the league solely due to the insane amount of individual talent. So, this match will present G2 Esports with the exact same obstacle they were unable to overcome against Fnatic.

There’s a good chance we will hear another Silver Scrapes on Friday, but if we had to pick a side, we’re leaning more towards Vitality. They likely won’t win the split, but the Bees should match up nicely with G2 Esports.

ROGUE vs MISFITS GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

The opening match of the LoL European Championship (LEC) 2022 Spring playoffs sees Rogue clash with Misfits Gaming on Friday, March 25.

Rogue won the LEC 2022 Spring regular season, and they have a realistic chance to win the whole split. However, their hopes to go all the way and finally lift the trophy will heavily rely on how well jungler Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong will perform and whether he can produce the carry performances we know he is capable of.

Misfits Gaming enter LEC playoffs at the peak of people’s opinions of them, which makes them the team most likely to disappoint. They might impress, but we have to acknowledge that Misfits’ roster is one of the least experienced when it comes to LEC playoffs.

The Bunnies still have a solid roster that can go toe-to-toe with any team, but they lack star players who can make a difference. Mid laner Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié might be an exception, but he alone won’t achieve much.

Misfits have shown incredible growth this season, and we expect them to do well next split. Unfortunately, it’s hard to believe they will win more than one map against Rogue, who are serious candidates to go all the way this year.

Rogue are already locked for the playoffs, whereas SK Gaming need to win all of their remaining three bouts to have a chance of making the postseason. There is obviously a reason why SK are in this position, but we can’t underestimate the morale boost the teams get once they’re in a do-or-die situation.

Individually, SK Gaming are weaker than Rogue, but they have played some solid games across the last two weeks. Yet, there were just as many bouts where SK Gaming imploded and lost against much weaker teams.

If you’re betting on which team is most likely to win, Rogue are the only obvious choice, but the value is with SK Gaming. Rogue are better, but just like SK, they are prone to making mistakes, especially if they fail to secure early leads.

Misfits Gaming defeated G2 Esports last Friday despite trailing over 13k gold at 18 minutes, which was not their first comeback win of the season. However, while comebacks are usually highly praised, we would take Misfits’ with a grain of salt. Instead of glorifying the Bunnies, we have to recognise that Misfits constantly find themselves in a losing position and only find a way back into the game because their opponents throw their leads.

Astralis came out of nowhere to pick up three wins across their last six outings against Rogue, Fnatic, and SK Gaming. Although an impressive record, Astralis are by no means stronger than either of those three teams – they arguably won only because Rogue, Fnatic, and SK underestimated them.

However, in all three games, Astralis took early leads, and this aggressive style of play could be a very efficient tool to break Misfits. Are Astralis good enough to execute their plan and convert the early lead and win is up to debate, but the likelihood of that happening is greater than 25%.

?The line on this match is quite surprising since we didn’t expect to see SK Gaming priced as the underdogs. Admittedly, Team BDS won the first meeting with SK earlier this season, but they’ve been playing poorly ever since.

That’s not to say that SK Gaming are a very good team, but they can be competitive and have already beaten MAD Lions twice, which is impressive. This is still a clash between two struggling teams, so there’s a world where Team BDS surprise, but at +100, you have to take SK Gaming to come out ahead.

Note that the odds will move depending on how the first round of matches go, so if you expect Vitality to stumble against Team BDS, it might be worth waiting for the Friday matches to end to get better odds on SK.

?If we didn’t have any preconceived notions on the teams and have odds that are based solely on the teams’ performance this season, Rogue would be even greater favourites. And that tells us that the esports bookies know Vitality are much stronger than their record suggests.

Vitality have not looked good this season, but they have the talent needed to defeat Rogue, who are trending in the wrong direction, with two successive defeats from last week. Note that this is a bet on talent rather than on the teams’ performances this season. Still, it’s not like Rogue impressed anyone with their showings last week.

Fnatic had some iffy showings this split, but they’re still one of the main favourites to win the LEC title, largely thanks to Team Vitality’s struggles. But while Fnatic are 8-3, they seem a bit overrated at -163.93 against G2 Esports.

We have no problem with the esports betting sites pricing Fnatic as the favourites, but we don’t believe they deserve the current price. G2 Esports have been playing surprisingly well this season and are currently tied with Fnatic in second place at 8-3.

Long-term, G2 Esports likely won’t achieve as much as Fnatic, but this should be a very competitive series. As long as the outsiders can slow down Fnatic’s early game and play around their bottom lane, G2 should be able to win and are a solid bet at +120.

?Team Vitality enter Week 4 of LEC 2022 Spring with a 3-4 record, which is not where you would expect them to be, but they have been playing better over the last two weeks. Last round, they won against SK Gaming but lost to Rogue, which isn’t terrible since Rogue seem to be one of the top LEC teams this season.

Misfits Gaming are 4-3, which sits them two spots above Vitality, but that doesn’t mean much knowing they have yet to be properly tested. But even if Misfits had won against any of the top teams, the lane match-ups in this bout all heavily favour Vitality, who field better players across all five positions.

No matter how you look at it, Vitality shouldn’t be losing games like this. They’re a stronger, more well-rounded, and overall much better team than Misfits.

MAD Lions went 1-1 last week with a win against Excel and a defeat against Misfits Gaming, which hardly inspires any confidence. Admittedly, we weren’t that high on MAD before, and we still see no reason why you would consider backing them in any of their games.

They can have their moments, but MAD Lions don’t seem like a team that will consistently win games, nor one that you can expect to cause an upset. If Fnatic play another scrappy game like they did against G2, this could be a close bout, but Fnatic field better players across all five roles, and we have to value talent over recent results.

?Team BDS and SK Gaming enter Week 3 of LEC 2022 Spring with a 1-4 record, which sits them tied in eighth place. Team BDS’ only victory came on January 15 against Excel, who should have won the game but gave up a crucial Baron, essentially supplying BDS with a free win.

Like BDS, SK have managed only one win, and even that came from a very scrappy match against MAD Lions in Week 1. SK Gaming have since lost against Fnatic, G2 Esports, and Excel, proving that their victory against the reigning champions was a fluke.

It’s tough to say how this match will go since neither team showed anything that would make us prefer them over the other. With that logic, a bet on BDS would make sense, but considering how mistake-prone these two teams are, we expect another scrappy bout that should see plenty of kills on both sides.

?Team Vitality bounced back from their 0-3 start with a perfect 2-0 run last week when they beat Team BDS and G2 Esports. The Bees looked much better in those games, but they still have some polishing to do.

Rogue have managed a perfect 5-0 run across the opening two weeks with wins against SK Gaming, Misfits Gaming, Astralis, MAD Lions, and Team BDS. Overall, they have been playing well, and we have no issues ranking them as one of the top-three teams in the league.

Still, we would have to put Rogue behind Team Vitality even though the latter have yet to stabilise. You could make a case for Rogue to cause an upset since they play with a lot more discipline and are less prone to making mistakes. Still, they’re outmatched across all positions, and considering the improvement Vitality showed last week, we have to side with the European superteam to get it done.

?G2 Esports are 3-2 with wins against Astralis, Excel Esports, and SK Gaming, which is hardly worth celebrating, just like we can’t be overly critical about their defeats against MAD Lions and Vitality. From what we’ve seen from G2, they seem like an upper-middle table team; the question now is how will they stack up against Misfits Gaming and other bottom teams.

However, we can be sure that G2 will struggle against the in-form Fnatic. The black and orange have yet to lose a match, and while they had some iffy showings, Fnatic are looking better with each passing game.

The latest LoL betting odds show Fnatic as -185.19 favourites, which is fair since they shouldn’t be losing against G2. However, we don’t expect them to stomp their regional rivals.

Throughout the LEC history, these derbies were always close – no matter which players represented the two teams – and we expect that trend to continue. Fnatic should win, but this will be a bloody match with plenty of kills on both sides.

?In the first week of LEC 2022 Spring, MAD Lions picked up two wins against the disorganised Team Vitality and G2 Esports but slipped against SK Gaming on Saturday. Astralis, meanwhile, lost all three of their bouts, going down to Misfits Gaming, G2 Esports, and Rogue.

MAD Lions played well in the opening week, so it’s fair to feel optimistic about the reigning LEC champions. But they don’t deserve to be priced at -500, which overrates them a bit.

MAD Lions have a solid roster, and you could argue that they are individually better than Astralis, but that doesn’t justify a bet on the favourites at the offered LoL betting odds. Astralis are still a bit iffy in execution, but this match is winnable for them.

?Rogue are not as strong as last season, but they are easily one of the top four teams in the league, whereas we have a hard time ranking Team BDS anywhere close to that. That’s not to say Team BDS can’t cause upsets, but we wouldn’t count on that happening too frequently until BDS show a bit more stability and a clearer game plan.

Still, BDS have shown some good qualities so far, and you could argue that they’re priced too generously at +194, but it’s hard to imagine them beating a stable team such as Rogue. The former LEC finalists might be weaker without Steven “Hans Sama” Liv and Kacper “Inspired” S?oma, but Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos has been playing well, and we have no complaints about Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong either.

This could turn out to be a very chaotic game, but Rogue are better and should close it out with at least seven kills to spare.

The second week of LEC 2022 Spring will conclude with a clash between Team Vitality and G2 Esports. The Bees enter the match as -147.06 favourites, which is reasonable, but so far Vitality have looked better than G2 only on paper.

Vitality should find traction with time and arise as one of LEC’s top teams, but they’re still far from that. Individually, this is a powerful team, but as a unit, Vitality are still lacking.

G2 Esports are fresh off a 2-1 week, with wins against Excel Esports and Astralis and a defeat against MAD Lions. Surprisingly, G2 are performing much better than expected, and we have no issues ranking them as one of the strongest LEC teams, but we still need to see more from Rasmus “caPs” Borregaard, who has yet to deliver.

A bet on Vitality is essentially a bet on the European superteam bouncing back from a 0-3 week, and while they aren’t a good spot now, -147.06 seems a bit too generous.

Excel to win at +107 isn’t a bad choice, but with the introduction of objective bounties, which led to some bizarre comeback games, we like over 26.5 kills better.

?Fnatic are looking like the scariest team in the LEC, and while they had some iffy moments last week, the black-and-orange still went 3-0. The main takeaway from Week 1 is that Fnatic are improving their synergy with each passing game, and if they can continue on this path, we don’t see how any team can stop them.

Astralis have the potential to grow and be competitive, but it will require some more time. They had some solid showings in the opening round of the new season but ended up going 0-3 with defeats against Misfits Gaming, G2 Esports, and Rogue.

Astralis had one of the most demanding schedules in the opening round of games, so they should do better in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, they will have to swallow another loss before things start looking up.

?It’s fair to feel sceptical about Team Vitality after their 0-3 week, but this is still the most stacked LoL esports team Europe has seen in years. Admittedly, Vitality struggle in teamfights and have yet to form a strong synergy, but it’s only a matter of time before the new players learn how to play with each other and start threatening the LEC trophy.

Team BDS managed a 1-2 record in the opening week of LEC 2022 Spring with a win against Excel Esports and losses against Fnatic and Misfits Gaming. The LEC newcomers played reasonably well, but even in their only win of the week, BDS came close to losing, so it’s not like we can be overly excited about their performances.

Many people will want to fade Vitality after their disastrous showing in Week 1, but the Bees are still LEC title contenders facing a squad that might not even make it into the playoffs. Team Vitality need to win this match, and there is no reason to doubt them.

S04 found plenty of success with more teamfighting-oriented compositions throughout the regular season but started to struggle once switching to a Tristana-Nidalee setup, so they will likely look to use the former approach here. The problem is that G2 have found success with many different playstyles and are better at teamfighting than S04.

Schalke 04’s other strength is their flexibility with their picks, but that comes more in scaling and teamfighting rather than early-game strength, which is a huge stylistic problem for this bout. ?Schalke 04 kept their playoffs dreams alive last week when they snapped their seven-game losing streak in half with a commanding win against Astralis. With a 6-9 record, S04’s chances of entering the playoffs are fairly slim as they either need to win all their remaining games or hope for Misfits to choke.

On a more positive note, this should be S04’s easiest match of the LEC Super Week. Excel Esports enter this match on a seven-game losing streak that includes losses against some of the weakest teams in the league.

Excel have the potential to develop into a strong team, but it is hard to be overly optimistic about their chances this weekend. Schalke might have been struggling of late, but they should win games like this with their eyes closed.

?If we were to compare the individual talent of these two teams, Misfits would seem much stronger, but anyone who has been watching LEC games can agree Team Vitality are far more stable and play much cleaner LoL than the Bunnies.

Misfits have picked up six wins this split, but most of those came either against weaker opponents or from flukes against stronger squads. While we don’t view Misfits as a lost cause, they seriously need to re-evaluate their approach to games and find some sort of stability ahead of the LEC Summer.

Statistically, Misfits are the better team, but the eye test says Vitality should not be priced as high as they are. The Bees bested SK Gaming and Excel last week, and more of that form should see them make short work of Misfits as well.

?Astralis are looking much better than they did early in the season, but that isn’t saying a hell of a lot. While the Danes might be fun to watch due to their aggressive playstyle, this is a team you should generally avoid betting on – much like the Golden Guardians in the LoL Championship Series (LCS).

MAD Lions might not have been performing as well as many expected them to, but there is huge potential for growth. Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla is shaping up to end the season as one of the best junglers in the league, while ?rfan Berk “Armut”Tükek continues to impress with his versatility and strong laning in the top lane.

MAD’s main issue remains their volatile bottom lane, which tends to be way too aggressive during the laning phase. However, that was not as noticeable last week, which leads us to believe Matyá? “Carzzy” Orság and Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser have stabilised.

The only way Astralis can win here is if MAD Lions drop the ball. While we might see a more relaxed approach from MAD since they are already locked in for playoffs, that is not a good enough reason for us to take the outsiders.

?G2 Esports are no strangers to losing against weaker opponents, but they need to step it up a notch in the final week if they are serious about winning the regular-season title. With only one win separating them from Rogue, we can expect G2 to take their games a bit more seriously now and avoid the kind of silly mistakes that often make their games much closer than they should be.

SK Gaming are doing much better than initially expected, but they are still a class below G2, Rogue, Fnatic and MAD Lions. Regardless, SK are all but guaranteed to secure a spot in the playoffs and don’t necessarily need to defeat G2 to punch their ticket.

This is a must-win match for G2, so we can expect them to be on their best behaviour. In their wins, G2 have averaged 18.63 kills and only 8.25 deaths, so it makes sense to take them to get up with at least nine kills to spare.
