On Friday, Mongolian rifler Chinguun “?hasteka?” Bayarmaa was officially unveiled as part of IHC’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup.

Hasteka will play under IHC’s banner in the Regional Major Ranking event in place of Tengis “?sk0R?” Batjargal. The player, who has been a part of IHC for around a year, was released from the lineup earlier this month to the surprise of many.

Fans expected IHC’s Mongolian lineup to represent the team in the Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia tournament following an impressive series of performances in previous international competitions. During the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice in February, where the team notably faced off and defeated Cloud9 and FURIA, sk0R was acknowledged as IHC’s highest-rated player throughout the Poland tournament.

This and IHC’s obvious improvement with their previous lineup contributed to the CS:GO community’s confusion concerning the organization’s decision to bench sk0R. After the early March announcement, the player took to Instagram to clarify that leaving the lineup was not his decision.

IHC’s current roster includes hasteka, Garidmagnai “?bLitz?” Byambasuren, Tuvshintugs “?Annihilation?” Nyamdorj, Sodbayar “?Techno?” Munkhbold, Baatarkhuu “?Bart4k?” Batbold with sk0R benched.

Hasteka was a part of Clutch for four months before signing with IHC. During his time there, the Mongolian player reached a 1.03 average rating at tournaments like the ESL Challenger League Season 43 Asia-Pacific and MESA League Season 3.

Hasteka earned his highest rating of the year in the Paris Major closed qualifier, where he reached a 1.10 rating in four maps. Despite his impressive performance, Clutch placed 7-8th in online competition, ultimately failing to qualify for the Paris Major.

Despite his previous team’s inability to qualify, hastaka will debut with his new lineup in the Paris Major RMR next month. IHC are also preparing to participate in two other international events in April, such as the ESL Challenger Melbourne and the IEM Brazil.

Esports tournament organizer, BLAST, has announced the locations for three upcoming Regional Major Rankings (RMR) tournaments for the popular first-person shooter game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). The organizer revealed that the tournament will for the first time in four years have the RMRs hosted regionally across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

BLAST made the revelation on its Twitter page, outlining the various locations for each regional tournament.

“All roads lead to Paris and for the first time since 2019 all 3 RMRs will be hosted regionally,” BLAST announced.

  • Americas RMR – Monterrey, Mexico (Liga Ace)
  • Asia RMR – Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (MESA)
  • European RMR – Copenhagen, Denmark (BLAST)”

The RMR tournaments serve as a qualifier for the CS:GO Major, which is the biggest tournament in the game’s competitive scene. The RMRs are divided into three regions, and the top teams from each region will qualify for the upcoming Major.

According to the announcement from BLAST, the Regional Major Rankings tournament for the Americas region will take place in Monterrey, Mexico, and be organized by Liga Ace Esports. Liga Ace Esports is a reputable tournament organizer in the Latin American market, having held events for a variety of games including VALORANT, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty.

The RMR for the Asia region will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and be organized by MESA. MESA has a strong reputation for hosting domestic CS:GO competitions, as well as PUBG Mobile tournaments, throughout 2022.

In September 2022, BLAST announced that they will host the first-ever CS:GO Major in France, scheduled to take place in May 2023. In order for European CS:GO teams to qualify for this major, they will be required to compete in the European Regional Major Rankings tournament, which is to be hosted exclusively by BLAST in Copenhagen. Although the exact dates of the RMR event have not yet been announced, fans can expect fierce competition from top teams from the region as they compete for a spot in the upcoming Major.

BLAST’s announcement of the RMR locations comes as part of its larger schedule for 2023, which includes plans to host seven large-scale tournaments with a total prize pool of $2.4 million. The tournament organizer’s commitment to the esports community is evident in its ambitious schedule of events and its decision of hosting tournaments in multiple regions.

Alongside announcing the RMR locations, BLAST also announced that the Paris Major will be announced in English while the show will be presented in both French and English. This news is thrilling for fans as it enables a broader audience to partake in the competition and comprehend the happenings on the screen.

As of now, the Paris Major is the only confirmed CS:GO Major for the year 2023 but there is a possibility for more events to be announced due to BLAST’s ambitious plans for the future. In the previous year 2022, two major tournaments were held and were organized by PGL and ESL.
