Esports outfit Philadelphia Fusion on Friday announced the change of their name to Seoul Infernal following the official relocation to South Korea ahead of the forthcoming Overwatch League season.

“Today, we announced plans to rebrand ourselves in the new year as the Seoul Infernal and relocate to South Korea,” the esports outfit tweeted.

The squad, which is owned by a Philadelphia-based company, Comcast Spectacor, was created in 2017. The team first relocated its operations to South Korea at the start of the COVID epidemic in early 2020; hence, the team has been operating in the region for about two years now.

“Overwatch League? team Philadelphia Fusion announced plans to rebrand itself in the new year as the Seoul Infernal and relocate to South Korea, where the team has been operating for the past two years. The team, founded in 2017, initially moved operations to South Korea at the onset of the COVID pandemic in early 2020 in close coordination with Overwatch League officials,” a press release read.

This movement will be beneficial on many grounds, as it will also bring the previous Philadelphia team closer to their sister team, TI. The esports outfit also disclosed that this modification will include changes in the squads jersey, the use of new logos, and other areas that will need an overhaul too.

“The Infernal name and branding will also reflect the teams new home in Seoul as well as the esports pedigree of our team and its sister team, T1. With the change, the team will unveil fresh logos, new jerseys and more for current and future Infernal team members and fans,” read the press release.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Spectacor, Dave Scott, expressed his delight in the changes and explained that the team is finally ready to take on the new season, noting they can now contend at a consistently high level and possibly win championships.

“As we gear up for next season, weve been evaluating how we can best compete at a consistent, championship level, and weve realized that our franchise will be best positioned to succeed in Seoul,” said Scott. “Were excited to begin this next chapter as the Seoul Infernal, and our team is proud to represent our current and future fans on the global stage.”

Comcast Spectacor also disclosed in their press release that the changes do not include a change in ownership or management. The companys executives and players will remain the same, and their team is also open to signing new players.

“The team will maintain the same ownership, management, and roster of currently signed players while new additions will be brought on to build out the team. The Overwatch League regular season will start in Spring 2023 and finals will follow in the Fall,” Comcast Spectacor said.

Following the Paris Eternal’s announcement that it would relocate to Las Vegas ahead of the league’s sixth season, the Seoul Infernal will be the second Overwatch team to do so ahead of the forthcoming season.

Given that Korean talent has been crucial to their organization’s triumphs, their makeover and move make logical sense. However, this revelation has saddened a lot of Philadelphia Fusion’s ardent supporters, especially those who were proud to see their hometown represented on a big stage.

T1 announced on Saturday, November 12, that Overwatch player Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok will be joining their Valorant team ahead of the 2023 season.

Carpe was only recently released from the Philadelphia Fusion, where he has been playing since November of 2017. The player handled the DPS role and participated in all five Overwatch League seasons while he was with the team. The 24-year-olds three-year contract expired this year, making him a free agent, which gave him leverage to transition to Valorant.

In late October, news of his transition made headway after the Fusion were kicked out of the 2023 OWL tournament. However, the news was not verified until this past Saturday. Both T1 and Philadelphia Fusion are owned by the same company, Wale.

The Korean player will be joining other former Overwatch players in his new team, the likes of former Florida Mayhem player Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo and Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, formerly of Seoul Dynasty. Outside his own team, Carpe is a chance to face fellow former Overwatch players such as Patifan “patifan” Chaewong from Talon Esports, Park “Baji” Joon-ki from Global Esports, and a list of others.

Carpe stated in his goodbye that he has had an amazing run playing Overwatch, and while he looks forward to his Valorant experience. He described his experience as “truly precious, unforgettable and honorable”, and added that he would always be “rooting for this team forever”.

Carpe has a long list of awards up his sleeve. He was the first Overwatch League player to amass a total of 4,000 final blows, led his previous team to first place at the Overwatch World Cup 2018 Incheon Qualifiers, and also helped the Fusion to second place at the 2022 Overwatch League Kickoff Clash.

Carpe will be joining T1 as their fifth player. Along with Munchkin and Sayaplayer, the roster also features Joseph “ban” Seungmin Oh and Son “xeta” Seon-ho.

T1 will test this new roster in February next year at the 2023 Valorant Championship Tour Kickoff, which is scheduled to be held in S?o Paulo, Brazil.

In line with the Philadelphia Fusions intention to rebuild their Overwatch team, the franchise have announced the departure of five players from their roster. The North American franchise joins a long list of Overwatch teams making changes to their rosters ahead of the 2023 season.

Among the list of players released are tanks Junho “Fury” Kim and Hwang “Belosrea” Gyu-tae, supports Kwon “FiXa” Yeong-hun and Minseok “AimGod” Kwon, and long-serving veteran DPS Jaehyeok “Carpe” Lee.

The franchise took to their Twitter page to announce the exits of the players from the team, using an individual post for each player.

“Today we are parting ways with @aimgod_ow,” the franchise tweeted.

“He joined us at a very difficult time and lifted us up with his expertise and positive energy.

We look forward to seeing what you accomplish next. Thank you AimGod!”

AimGod was a former support on the Boston Uprising roster during the inaugural season of the league. At some point in his career, he played against Fury and Carpe.

After over a year with the Uprising, he joined the Washington Justice, where he spent a year. Upon leaving Washington, he took on the challenge of sharpening his skills in Overwatch Contenders with the Chinese esports team Team CC.

FiXa, on the other hand, joined the Philadelphia Fusion as a rookie from the Uprising Academy, where he spent a year. Upon joining Fusion, FiXa became an instant success with his ability to support his team.

Belosrea, who was also a rookie player on the roster, was a former member of T1. With Fusion, he had been sharing the tank duties with veteran Fury. Fury had earlier in the year returned to Fusion after having been a part of the franchise in 2020 before joining th Washington Justice.

The story is quite different for Carpe, who has recently announced his retirement from competitive Overwatch. The veteran remains the sole player to represent a single team for the entire period of five years since the league was developed. He was a key player for the team, as he led them to a second-place finish at the inaugural grand finals.

“Revealing the last member that defies expectations…”
#T1VALORANT Jae-Hyeok Carpe Lee joins Pacific!” T1 announced on their Twitter page.

“Always expect the unexpected…
Rounding out T1 Valorant Pacific Team is… @Carpe_”

Carpe shared his announcement that he will be exploring the Valorant esports title under the T1 roster. He joins Overwatch pros like Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo, who made the switch.

The Philadelphia Fusion had a good start to the season, placing second in the Overwatch League 2022: Kickoff Class and fourth at the Overwatch. The Philadelphia Fusion also finished fourth in the Midseason Madness in July and third at the Summer Showdown.

However, at the 2022 Overwatch League Playoffs, the franchise found it difficult to make a good representation of themselves at the event. They finished in 9th-12th place after suffering back-to-back defeats and only winning a map in the process.

After being swept by the London Spitfire in their upper bracket round 1 fixture, the team were demoted to the lower bracket. In the first round of the lower bracket, they were tasked with playing against the Los Angeles Gladiators. The franchise won the first map but lost the next three games to the Gladiators, which guaranteed their exit from the tournament.

Owing to their terrible outing in the playoffs, it was imperative to make some changes to their roster if they were to stand a chance in the upcoming season.

With Fusion losing five players from their roster, the franchise is left with only two players on their roster: Yoon “MN3” Jae-hee and Kim “ZEST” Hyun-woo. The roster replacements are yet to be announced as the franchise looks to rebuild.

South Korean player Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok is reportedly making the switch from Overwatch to Valorant.

It is said that the Philadelphia Fusion players will compete in the Valorant Pacific League with the partnered team T1 next year. Carpe will reportedly be the fifth player to join T1 for the 2023 Valorant Championship Tour (VCT) APAC, making them ready to begin the 2023 season. If these five end up being selected for the starting roster, then the majority of T1’s squad will consist of former Overwatch League players.

The fact that the Overwatch fanbase has known and supported Carpe for such a significant amount of time makes his move to Valorant extra noteworthy. He was a participant in one of the most iconic plays in the history of the Overwatch League, in which he screamed “winnable” the entire time he was clutching out a fight.

Carpe is one of the players with the longest tenure in the Overwatch League. Since the beginning of the year 2017, when the league initially began the process of assembling rosters, he has been a member of the Philadelphia Fusion and has been signed to the team since that. This year marked the end of his three-year contract with the team, which means he is now free to pursue other opportunities. As a result, he has chosen to make a career change beginning in 2023.

The DPS player has also played for the renowned North American team, FaZe Clan, in 2017. Carpe is the first player to surpass 4,000 total final blows in the Overwatch League. Early this year, he played alongside his other teammates to take his team, Philadelphia Fusion, to 2nd place in the Overwatch Kickoff Clash.

Although the Philadelphia Fusion are slated to compete in the playoffs for the 2022 Overwatch League on October 30, it is currently unknown whether or not Carpe will be making his final run in this match. The Philadelphia squad would face off against the London Spitfire, who have odds of $1.96 to win the match, with the former placed at $1.8 odds with GG.bet.

Carpe has been chosen to participate in each and every Overwatch League Top Game since the league’s debut. In addition, he was presented with a Role Star commendation in 2019, and he has been a finalist for the Overwatch League Most Valuable Player award on two separate occasions.

The South Korean player will be joining two other former Overwatch professionals, who transitioned in 2020. Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo, who played for the Florida Mayhem, and Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, who played for the Seoul Dynasty and the Boston Uprising before switching to Valorant.

The first VCT competition would take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in February of the following year, giving spectators the opportunity to witness T1 in action for the very first time. The first year of the restructured tournament will get underway in a local area network (LAN) environment, and all 30 teams will make the journey there to compete.

The Philadelphia Fusion have stunned the Overwatch League with another brilliant display, to take their record to 4-0, despite being tipped to struggle this season.

Week two action in the Overwatch League has come to an end. Some of the big players in the league showed their might by recording comfortable victories. However, it is the Fusion’s performance that has put rival teams on notice.

Coming into the May Melee Qualifiers, Fusion was ranked poorly because of the caliber of players on the roster. Also, the instability that rocked the organization was a threatening factor to the team’s performance.

ALL: esports news

The Fusion have been able to rise above and put together series of sensational performances; some considered upsets. Their incredible start in the competition was built on in week two, resulting in a 4-0 record (12-3 Map Differential).

The Fusion squared off with Hangzhou Spark on April 24 in their first bout in week 2. Despite losing Lijiang Tower 1-2, they made an inspired comeback to win the following three maps to continue their dominant beginning to the season. Dong-jun “Rascal” Kim received the award for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game for his impressive performance.

The second game in week two for Fusion was no different. The team quickly won the first two maps – Ilios (1-2) and Havana (0-1). The Chengdu Hunters attempted an inspired comeback after a riveting battle for the third map Volskaya Industries, but eventually fell 3-2.

It was a repeat showing for both teams in King’s Row as it came right down to the wire before a winner emerged. Philadelphia Fusion managed to win the map and ended the match series (1-3).

Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee, a Hitscan DPS player, secured the man of the match award. He now has two MVP awards so far in the competition, which is more than any other player.

SAN FRANCISCO SHOCK vs PHILADELPHIA FUSION OVERWATCH LEAGUE 2020 BETTING PREVIEW

The reigning Overwatch League (OWL) champions and the current North American leaders will clash this Saturday when San Francisco Shock and Philadelphia Fusion meet for the third time this season.

Philadelphia have looked strong throughout the 2020 Overwatch League campaign, and they enter the final match of the season ranked first in the North American standings with a 23-2 record. Despite their success in league play, the Fusion cant be too happy with their second consecutive grand final loss in OWL tournaments last weekend.

Philly finished the July schedule with a perfect 4-0 record, which they earned with wins against Los Angeles Gladiators (3-2), Toronto Defiant (3-0), Dallas Fuel (3-0) and Los Angeles Valiant (3-0). Jaehyeok “Carpe” Lee and his crew extended their momentum into the Countdown Cup, where they had no issues taking down Gladiators (3-0) and Paris Eternal (3-1) but had to admit defeat to San Francisco Shock (2-4) in the decider.

While losing a grand final is devastating enough on its own, that the Fusion suffered the same fate a month prior against Paris Eternal (3-4) in the Summer Showdown makes it a much harder pill to swallow. They still need to work on keeping a cool head in crucial matches, especially when facing a team they have not beaten since the inaugural OWL season.

San Francisco Shock might not be as dominant as they were in 2019 campaign, but they’re not far from it. The reigning OWL champions enter this bout with a 22-2 record, which sits them one win behind the Fusion in the North American OWL standings and guarantees them a top-five finish.

Not many teams have managed to hold their own against the Fusion and Shock this season. In fact, no other team in the North American division has come close to catching the two frontrunners, seeing how the third-placed Paris Eternal are still five wins behind San Francisco.

Much of these teams’ strength comes from their depth of talent. Both are also very adaptable to different situations and don’t hesitate to put their deadly arsenal to use.

When it comes to roster depth, we have to give the Shock an edge over the Fusion because they have Matthew super DeLisi and Grant Moth Espe on the bench and ready to jump in if need be. Both are household names and arguably possess enough quality to be starters in any other OWL team.

If we also take into consideration that San Francisco field tank Myeong-hwan smurf Yoo, who is living up to his name, and Minki Viol2t Park, who is one of the best off-healers in the league, they take the cake for the most stacked roster in the division.

SAN FRANCISCO SHOCK vs PHILADELPHIA FUSION OVERWATCH LEAGUE 2020 BETTING PREDICTIONS

The San Francisco Shock are priced as huge favourites for this bout, which is not surprising when you consider their aforementioned roster depth and head-to-head advantage. For the Philadelphia Fusion to stand a chance here, a lot will fall on the shoulders of star support Kyung-bo “Alarm” Kim.

Alarm has been exceptional this season and is one of the main candidates to win the MVP award. What makes him even more dangerous this week is that none of his signature heroes have been banned, which is something the Shock will have to be careful about. On the negative side, the Fusion will need to rethink their strategy and compositions since both Zarya and Genji – who they used frequently last month – are ruled out.

While San Fran won this matchup 4-2 last weekend, Philly looked solid and had their chances to force a seven-map series at the very least. If Alarm shows up and the Fusion can keep their cool, they should be able to keep the series close.

PHILADELPHIA FUSION vs DALLAS FUEL OVERWATCH LEAGUE 2020 BETTING PREVIEW

Dallas Fuel will look hand Philadelphia Fusion just their third loss of Overwatch League (OWL) Season 3 when they kick off the 26th week of the competition this Friday.

The Fusion are 19-2 and have already booked their spot in the OWL 2020 playoffs. That means Jaehyeok “Carpe” Lee and his crew can now focus on overtaking Shanghai Dragons, who top the combined standings with a 22-2 record.

Philadelphia finished third-fourth at the May Melee, where they were outmatched by Florida Mayhem (1-3) in the semi-finals. Carpe and co. improved upon that performance at the Summer Showdown earlier this month, when they made it to the grand finals only to lose to the rejuvenated Paris Eternal (3-4) thanks to a remarkable performance from Ki-hyo “Xzi” Jung.

Back in the regular season, the Fusion kicked off July with a narrow 3-2 win against Los Angeles Gladiators. While losing two maps against a team of that calibre is not all too promising on paper, we have to give Philly some praise for fighting back from 0-2 down to seal a reverse sweep. The Fusion followed that up with a clean 3-0 win against Toronto Defiant where they lost only two rounds out of nine.

While Philadelphia have enjoyed relatively smooth sailing through the 2020 OWL season, Dallas Fuel have experienced quite a turbulent trip through thus far.

The Fuel started the campaign with three straight defeats and entered June with only four wins from 11 outings. That led to a key summer signing, with support William Crimzo Hernandez adding depth to the squad and enabling DPS Jang Decay Gui-un to shine.

Despite their improved performances, Dallas went down to Florida Mayhem (1-3) and Vancouver Titans (0-3) before picking up a clean 3-0 win against Toronto Defiant to end June with a 1-2 record. In the Summer Showdown, the Fuel were quite unfortunate to face Paris Eternal (1-3) in the first round, which meant they finished the monthly tournament in ninth-12th place.

Dallas began July’s OWL matches with two wins against Houston Outlaws (2-3) and Boston Uprising (3-1), which have set them up nicely to claim their first 3-0 month of the season. While those results came against two of the weakest teams in the league, they show that the Fuel are starting to find their feet and should not be underestimated.

PHILADELPHIA FUSION vs DALLAS FUEL OVERWATCH LEAGUE 2020 BETTING PREDICTIONS

While Dallas Fuel have improved and shown occasional flashes of brilliance, they are in for an uphill battle this Friday when they face one of the OWL 2020 title contenders.

The last time these teams met was in May, when Philly came away with a 3-1 win. That scoreline might suggest the Fusion dominated, but the series went down to the wire with all four maps decided by a single point.

Both teams have looked better since then, so the question is: are we in for another close bout, or have the Fusion opened an even wider gap on the Fuel?

Philadelphia are 8-3 in all competitions since they last clashed with Dallas, which suggests they are strong but beatable. Considering the Gladiators gave the Fusion a good run earlier this month, the Fuel just might keep this one close enough to cover the handicap.

Houston Outlaws (5 V C 3 D) vs. Philadelphia Fusion (5 V C 3 D)

Houston Outlaws has had a fairly good run so far in Stage 4, defeating teams like London Spitfire and Dallas Fuel in the process. Its defeats came against the current top 3 teams in the league (Los Angeles Valiant, Los Angeles Gladiators and New York Excelsior), so no surprises there. Overall, Outlaws looked capable of holding its own against most adversaries, but still got completely crushed by the really strong teams.

Philadelphia Fusion had a fairly poor run in Stage 3, finishing 8th with a record of 5 W C 5 L. In Stage 4, the team has had a slightly better run so far, losing against Los Angeles Gladiators, Dallas Fuel and New York Excelsior and winning against the likes of San Francisco Shock and Seoul Dynasty.

In terms of overall performance throughout the Overwatch League and recent form, these two teams are of similar strength. However, in their previous 3 direct encounters, Philadelphia Fusion won every time (score 3 C 2).

Betway puts the odds at 2.55 C 1.45 in favor of Philadelphia Fusion, clearly expecting a victory in their favor but still giving Houston Outlaws a lot of respect. I believe this assessment is almost precisely correct, but the odds should have been higher on Fusions part. Thats because the chance of a Houston Outlaws victory is higher than what these odds reflect.

Betting prediction: Philadelphia Fusion to win, paying -227.27 at BetOnline.

Florida Mayhem (1 V C 7 D) vs. London Spitfire (3 V C 5 D)

Apart from Dragons, Florida Mayhem is without a doubt the second weakest team in OWL. Its abysmal 7 V C 31 D record, which is actually a 3 V C 31 D record (because 4 of those victories were against Shanghai Dragons) clearly suggests that it has absolutely no chance against the stronger teams. And London Spitfire is definitely one of them, in spite of its poor recent form.

London Spitfire is the Stage 1 champion, but the team has lost a lot of its prowess since then. In Stage 3, Spitfire finished in 6th place with a record of 5 W C 5 L. Stage 4 hasnt been any easier for this team, which is now standing at number 8 with 3 victories and 5 defeats. The only important team defeated by London Spitfire in Stage 4 was San Francisco Shock. At the same time, Spitfires defeats came against key opponents such as New York Excelsior, Houston Outlaws, Dallas Fuel, Los Angeles Valiant and Los Angeles Gladiators.

Every type of indicator points towards an easy London Spitfire victory in this match.

Betway puts the odds at 7.00 C 1.07 in favor of London Spitfire, and this is practically free money to be made.

Betting prediction: London Spitfire to win, paying -1428.57 at BetOnline.

New York Excelsior (6 V C 2 D) vs. Boston Uprising (2 V C 6 D)

New York Excelsior is easily the best team in OWL in terms of overall performance, sitting on a record of 33 V C 5 D. Two of those 5 losses took place in Stage 4, against Los Angeles Valiant (2 C 3) and Los Angeles Gladiators (2 C 3), but Excelsior is still one tier above almost every other team in the league right now. So a defeat against Boston Uprising in this match is very unlikely.

Boston Uprising has suffered the most shocking drop imaginable in the last 5 weeks, going from a 10 V C 0 D record in Stage 3 to a current 2 V C 6 D record in Stage 4. Im not sure how that was even possible for a team that seemed unstoppable for the entire duration of Stage 3, but apparently the loss of its head coach has played a significant role in this.

Recent form, overall form and head to head statistics all favor New York Excelsior to win this match.

Betway puts the odds at 1.10 C 5.75 in favor of Excelsior, giving Uprising a lot of undue respect.

Betting prediction: New York Excelsior to win, paying -1000 at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for June 8

Boston Uprising (1 W C 6 L) vs. Shanghai Dragons (0 W C 7 L)

Boston Uprising has suffered the most shocking drop imaginable in the last 4 weeks, going from a 10 W C 0 L record in Stage 3 to a current 1 W C 6 L record in Stage 4. Im not sure how that was even possible for a team that seemed unstoppable for the entire duration of Stage 3, but apparently the loss of its head coach has played a significant role in this. For the time being, Boston Uprising is in complete free fall, but its next opponent will surely make it look like a great team again.

With every passing week, Shanghai Dragons improves its all-time record. And not just for Overwatch, but the entire esports industry. This team has lost its first 37 matches, getting 0 wins so far in the Overwatch League and representing the perfect cash cow for any person with an interest in Overwatch betting. Whatever the odds may be, that is basically free money to be made whenever youre betting against Shanghai Dragons in a match.

Betting prediction: Boston Uprising to win, paying -625 at BetOnline.

Florida Mayhem (1 W C 6 L) vs. Dallas Fuel (4 W C 3 L)

Apart from Shanghai Dragons, Florida Mayhem is the weakest team in the league, and its chances against Dallas Fuel in this match are absolutely 0.

Dallas Fuel seems to have resurrected its roster and playstyle and has performed really well so far in Stage 4, winning against tough opponents such as London Spitfire and Philadelphia Fusion and being ranked 6th in the standings table. Compare that to its 1 W C 9 L Stage 3 performance and you cant help but be amazed at how much a team can improve in such a short period of time. Fuels two losses came against Los Angeles Gladiators and San Francisco Shock, both of them strong teams.

Betting prediction: Dallas Fuel to win, paying -303.03 at BetOnline.

Philadelphia Fusion (3 W C 3 L) vs. Seoul Dynasty (2 W C 5 L)

Philadelphia Fusion had a fairly poor run in Stage 3, finishing 8th with a record of 5 W C 5 L. In Stage 4, the team has had a very similar path so far, losing against Los Angeles Gladiators, Dallas Fuel and New York Excelsior and winning against 3 irrelevant teams: Shanghai Dragons, Florida Mayhem and Boston Uprising.

Seoul Dynasty hasnt done too well in Stage 4, winning just 2 of its matches and against completely irrelevant opponents: Florida Mayhem and Shanghai Dragons. These results dont tell the whole story though. Throughout the entire duration of the Overwatch League, Seoul Dynasty has been one of the fairly strong teams, finishing Stage 1, 2 and 3 in 5th (7 W C 3 L), 4th (7 W C 3 L) and 7th (5 W C 5 L) place respectively. In Stage 4, Dynasty lost very close matches against strong opponents such as Los Angeles Valiant (2 C 3) and London Spitfire (2 C 3). These close but unfortunate results are a testament to Seoul Dynastys strength and ability to hold its own against almost any opponent.

Betting prediction: Seoul Dynasty to win, paying +250 at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for June 7

Los Angeles Valiant (6 V C 0 D) vs. London Spitfire (3 V C 3 D)

After a good result in Stage 3 (3rd place with 7 V C 3 D), Los Angeles Valiant went full champion mode in Stage 4 and is currently sitting at the top of the league with 6 victories and 0 defeats. In particular, the teams victory against New York Excelsior from last week clearly proved that Valiant is on a completely different level right now. Im expecting it to finish Stage 4 in 1st place but then lose the Grand Final of the Title Matches against New York Excelsior.

London Spitfire is the Stage 1 Title Matches winner but in Stage 3, it finished barely 6th with 5 victories and 5 defeats. So far, it seems to be going the same way in Stage 4. Spitfire isnt a weak team though, and its 3 victories in Stage 3 clearly proved that. San Francisco Shock, Seoul Dynasty and Boston Uprising lost against London Spitfire during the first 3 weeks of this stage.

The recent form and overall performance statistics favor Los Angeles Valiant to win this match. However, these two teams have already met each other twice, and Spitfire won both times with a score of 3 C 2. That makes this match a great opportunity to bet on the underdog. No doubt, Spitfires odds for this match will be huge, simply because the team is regarded as a longshot against Los Angeles Valiant. So even a bet with a +1.5 maps handicap on Spitfire will yield really high profits.

Betting prediction: London Spitfire to win +1.5, paying +162 at BetOnline.

Los Angeles Gladiators (5 V C 1 D) vs. New York Excelsior (5 V C 1 D)

After a 4th place finish in Stage 3, Los Angeles Gladiators began Stage 4 at the peak of its powers and has won 5 matches so far. The teams only loss came against Los Angeles Valiant. Other than that, victories against other strong opponents such as San Francisco Shock, Houston Outlaws and Philadelphia Fusion clearly proved that Gladiators is a top contender in Stage 4.

New York Excelsior is by far the strongest contender in the Overwatch League in terms of overall results, having a record of 32 V C 4 D. Last week, Excelsior lost against Los Angeles Valiant in a very close series but is still much stronger than any other team in the league. So I dont see how Gladiators could overcome this hurdle and actually upset the established order.

The two previous matches between these two teams ended with 2 New York Excelsior victories. Furthermore, Excelsior has performed much better than Gladiators throughout the entire duration of the Overwatch League. That clearly suggests that its the favorite here and by a lot, in spite of the current identical Stage 4 record: 5 V C 1 D for both teams.

Betting prediction: New York Excelsior to win at BetOnline.

San Francisco Shock (4 V C 2 D) vs. Philadelphia Fusion (3 V C 3 D)

After bringing in Boston Uprisings head coach, San Francisco Shock made some serious improvements and is now sitting in 4th place with 4 victories and 2 defeats. The victories came against Seoul Dynasty, Houston Outlaws, Dallas Fuel and Boston Uprising, while the defeats came against Los Angeles Gladiators and London Spitfire.

Philadelphia Fusion finished Stage 3 in a modest 8th place with 5 victories and 5 defeats. For the time being, the team seems to be headed towards a similar result. In Stage 4, Fusion won against 3 irrelevant opponents (Boston Uprising, Florida Mayhem and Shanghai Dragons) and lost against Dallas Fuel, New York Excelsior and Los Angeles Gladiators. It seems that every time it faces a strong team, Fusion has a high chance of choking. Because of that, I fully expect San Francisco Shock to win this match.

The latest match between these 2 teams took place in Stage 3 and ended with a clear victory in favor of San Francisco Shock (score 3 C 1).

Betting prediction: San Francisco Shock to win at BetOnline.
