X1 Esports announced today that they will be closing the operations of Rix.GG, their UK-based esports team.

Rix.GG took to their Twitter page to make the announcement, thanking the players, staff, creators, and fans for their contributions to the organization’s growth in the past years.

“As of today Rix will be ceasing operations,” the franchise’s tweet read.

“To every player, staff member and creator thats been with us, thank you for making this organisation what it was.

“To everyone that supported us through thick and thin, thank you.

“Thank you for everything. #GatherTheStorm.”

Rix.GG launched in July 2020 as a part of X1 Esports’ expansion into the European market. The team quickly gained a following and success in a variety of competitions, including the 2022 Icons Global Championship (Wild Rift) and the RLCS Season X Winter EU Major (Rocket League).

However, despite their initial success, X1 Esports have decided to close the operations of Rix.GG due to financial constraints and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the esports industry.

Rix’s Chief Gaming Officer, Zack “cZer” Chandler, spoke about the unfortunate development.

Rix was built on the fundamentals of trying to do things right in this industry, and making sure people were valued and cared after,” cZer said.

“I personally want to thank every single player thats walked through these doors for the time they spent with us.

Having the ability to work with talent on this scale made me truly grateful for the position Im in. I want to thank every content creator that flew our banner and showed their love for the org. And finally thanking every staff member that gave their blood sweat and tears for this org.

We are a family of people that cared about inclusion, fairness and respect. And that will never change.

The closure of Rix.GG marks a significant loss for the UK esports scene. They were one of the few British esports teams to have achieved success at international level.

X1 Esports have assured fans that they will continue to invest in the esports industry and remain committed to their Rocket League news website, Shift Media, and talent management company, Tyrus LLC, stating that they will “no longer be in the business of competitive playing of video games by teams for cash prizes”.

X1 Esports formerly fielded rosters Rocket League, Fortnite, Valorant, and the League of Legends mobile game Wild Rift. Their decision to shut down is a result of the current global economic uncertainty and the rising cost of living, which has negatively impacted the organization’s revenues.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of German esports organization Cowana Gaming’s decision to shut down operations. According to multiple reports, Rix and Cowana Gaming may be the first of several teams to face closure in the coming months.

Fnatic has made public the creation of a college partner program. The UK-first program looks to support students who aim to pursue a career in gaming.

The European esports organization took to its official Twitter page to announce the launch of the program. The program will available in the three partner colleges across the UK, namely Queen Marys College and Havant, South Downs College, and Access Creative College. The program will commence at the start of a new school calendar, in September 2022.

The partnership will include curriculum-driven webinars hosted by Fnatic staff, industry access, and partner discounts on Fnatic gears. Along with the program is the Pearson Esports BTEC, which entails practically learning-focused qualifications in the UK for students of the high school age.

The Esports BTEC is currently being studied by about 2,000 students in 70 institutions across the UK. The course covers esports typically as a pathway for inculcating some key skills to the students other than as a subject.

Esports Director at Queen Marys College and National Trainer for Pearson, James Fraser-Murison commented on the partner program with Fnatic. He described the partnership as a huge opportunity for the esports students and also the college, as it provides a closer look into the industry. He shared his excitement to commence the program and goes on to list the many benefits it would have to the esports teaching scene.

This is huge for our esports students and also the college, Fraser-Murison started. To partner up with the biggest esports organization in the UK, will mean we are directly giving our esports students a step-up into the industry with first-hand experiences and careers advice and opportunities from a global brand.

Their business and educational understanding will also directly link to our teaching of the esports BTEC and also create work experience opportunities within our partnership. As the leading provider of esports teaching in the UK, this type of partnership is key to keeping QMC at the forefront of esports teaching and making sure we can provide industry-specific portfolios for the largest industry in the world. We can’t wait to get started, he ended.

As part of the program, Fnatic will offer the students industry insights and reveal to them the various roles eminent in the esports industry. Asides from the presence of guest lecturers and high-tech equipment in the colleges, it will also include the organization of networking events.

The franchise also looks to offer exclusive access to host tournaments, discounted, events, and the provision of tournament prizes. These updates will be made available via the brand’s dedicated Discord server.

The press release contained the brand’s aim in developing the program, the franchise shared that it looks to support the younger generation as much as it can. It also read that the organization will provide students with real-world experiences and networking opportunities. The program is also hinged on supporting the partner colleges.

Fnatic has a good crop of talent (teams) competing in various esports titles including (but not limited to), Valorant, Leagues of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and Rainbow Six: Siege amongst others. The franchise also has an academy (Fnatic Rising) that competes in LoL and CS: GO.

The esports industry has been introduced to a new game, Fableborne, set to be released later this year. Fableborne is the first game of UK-based developers Pixion Games.

Although the game is yet to be released, fans can pre-register on their site to get a first look when it is launched later this year. However, Pixion has revealed that it will be a multiplayer action-packed game where players will explore the “Shatterlands.”

While you can play “boss battles” in the player-versus-environment mode or player-versus-player battles, everyone is also allowed to participate in the Pixion League and claim rewards based on performances.

Per their official site, the Alpha Launch will happen in the third quarter of 2022 while the Pixion League will be revealed in the last quarter of the year.

Fableborne has been in creation for over 18 months, and the developers feel confident enough to launch. The game has gone through rigorous prototyping and testing in the period before Fableborne was birthed. Such attention to detail was mainly to guarantee fun gameplay in the final product.

The creators are seasoned game developers with years of experience with some of the biggest studios globally, including Ubisoft, Riot, Konami, Blizzard, etc.

Pixion promises easy-to-learn gameplay which does not take away from the engaging experience. With an easy-to-understand mode of playing, it is easy to create a game that will not challenge players, but that is not the case with Fableborne.

Through Fableborne, Pixion Games also announced a never-before-seen category of competitive play. With this, the competitive experience will be asynchronous to each player, meaning every participant does not have to be available at the same time. The newly-introduced concept will launch with the Pixion League.

Seeing as the developers have opted to go this route, players can conveniently log in at any time and enjoy the game while also reaping the benefits available in competitive play. Even as players will play at their pace, it does not take away from the challenge ahead as they aim to navigate the Shatterlands and move up the rankings in the yet-to-be-announced league.

Another interesting feature that has been announced is that players will own every customized Heroes, Island, and whatever in-game items they purchase as they play. All of this will be made possible with the “play to own” concept facilitated by NFTs.

Every item acquired by the player either through purchase or rewards in Pixion League will be transformed into digital assets.

According to Kam Punia, Founder and CEO of Pixion Games, one of their selling points is the provision of a fun rewarding experience without demanding so much of your time.

“Fableborne is a competitive mobile-first multiplayer game, but it doesnt demand an unreasonable amount of players time. Players can have a fun, rewarding, and enriching experience, battling other players or completing quests, creating smart and powerful strategies over their lunch break or as they travel. We all know the struggle of finding the time to have satisfying gaming experiences and keeping up with the competition. Fableborne is the antidote to this C a new category of esports games that fits around your lifestyle and plays the way you want it to.”

There is so much to look forward to with the launch of Fableborne. Players will experience a new approach to competitive play and actually own digital assets through rewards earned.

Chaos Esports Club have announced the departure of Owen “smooya” Butterfield from their CS:GO esports roster due to circumstances related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The British Counter-Strike pro had occupied an inactive role in the team since he was benched on March 20, as he had to leave the United States and return to England in order to deal with some issues related to his visa. Upon arriving back home, smooya had his meeting with the US embassy postponed to an undisclosed date, meaning he was left stranded in his home country.

With the US embassy shutting down all non-essential services in the UK amid the country-wide lockdown, smooya is unable to secure his visa and travel across Atlantic to join his team, who were left with no choice but to let the AWPer go.

“Today we are releasing smooya,” read the announcement from Chaos EC.

“The ongoing pandemic has postponed his visa interview indefinitely, therefore, he is unable to compete with the team in the US. Smooya is an exceptional talent, and we appreciate all of the energy he brought to the team.”

Smooya joined Chaos in early January when he was brought in from BIG as a replacement for the benched Gage “Infinite” Green, who was later released from the team. He played an integral part in his team’s success in the early months of 2020, which saw Chaos secure top spot at the FLASHPOINT Season 1: North American Qualifier in mid-February and a top-four finish at the resulting LAN qualifier.

During his time at Chaos, smooya averaged an impressive 1.32 HLTV rating, held a 63.2% map win rate and averaged over 1.00 in 85.3% of maps played.

“Due to COVID-19 Ive been permanently removed from the Chaos EC roster meaning Im a free agent,” said smooya.

“Sucks to lose a job because of the virus but its how it is sometimes ladies and gentlemen. Ill be streaming most days and looking to mix/fill for anybody if needed!”

Smooya has yet to announce where he will continue his career, while Chaos EC have drafted in Logan “Voltage” Long as a fill-in for FLASHPOINT Season 1.

NATUS VINCERE VS VITALITY BLAST PREMIER SERIES SPRING 2020 BETTING PREVIEW

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut will lead their teams into battle this Friday when Natus Vincere lock horns with Vitality in the opening fixture of Group B at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020.

Natus Vincere entered the inaugural season of the BLAST Premier Series hoping to claim their first LAN title since April 2019, when they won StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7. For the past 10 months, s1mple and the company have put up mediocre results and failed to find any consistency.

Once regarded as one of the best teams in the world, NaVi endured a steady decline for the large part of 2019 and are now ranked eighth in the world on HLTV’s global rankings. There are many theories as to why Natus Vincere have been underperforming for almost a year, with many in the CS:GO esports community singling out Ladislav “GuradiaN” Kovcs.

GuardiaN, who was a member of Natus Vincere for almost four years from 2013-2017, left for FaZe Clan in August 2017 and returned to the CIS squad two years later. Since his return, however, GuardiaN’s performances were less than impressive, as he averaged a 0.95 rating across four months.

On January 24, Natus Vincere finally decided to bench GuardiaN in favour of Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy, who joined the team from Syman Gaming. Since his arrival, Perfecto has played three games for Natus Vincere at the ICE Challenge, where they defeated GODSENT twice and OG to set up a date with mousesports in the grand finals. Perfecto averaged a 1.04 rating across the three fixtures.

Vitality have not made any significant changes to the team since the signing of Richard “shox” Papillon back in September 2019. Shox arrived as a replacement for Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, who left for OG at the end of the year. In January, Vitality also signed Mathieu “MaT” Leber as their assistant coach.

Unlike Natus Vincere, who struggled to make any noise in the CS:GO scene in 2019, Vitality saw plenty of success last year. Some of their most notable results were the ECS Season 7 title in June, fifth-eighth place at the Berlin Major, a silver medal at DreamHack Masters Malm? and the EPICENTER 2019 title at the end of December.

While all praiseworthy achievements, Vitality are also one of the most inconsistent teams in the game because they heavily rely on their star player, ZywOo. He averaged an impressive 1.56 rating in Vitality’s last five fixtures, where they defeated HellRaisers (2-0), EHOME (2-0), Natus Vincere (2-1), Heroic (2-0) and mousesports (2-1) in the finals of EPICENTER 2019.

NATUS VINCERE VS VITALITY BLAST PREMIER SPRING BETTING PREDICTIONS

This clash will be close and esports bookmakers have done an excellent job showing that with the betting odds.

Natus Vincere and Vitality met three times in 2019 and it was Vitality who pocketed two wins. However, it’s worth noting all three fixtures were close. Their first meeting at the IEM XII Katowice New Legends Stage ended in a 25-22 win for Natus Vincere, while their second clash at DreamHack Masters Malm? in October and most recent at EPICENTER ended in 2-1 wins for Vitality.

Besides the departure of GuardiaN and arrival of Perfecto at Natus Vincere, there have been no significant changes in either of the teams since their last meeting, which leads us to believe the balance of power will remain mostly the same. Vitality’s chances to win here will rely solely on ZywOo’s performance, while NaVi will look at s1mple and Perfecto to step up and show their worth.

This match can go either way, yet we are confident neither team has the tools to produce a clean sweep. Three rounds is what we expect to see, while generous betting odds on Natus Vinceres outright win makes them a very solid pick as well.

OG VS ENCE ICE CHALLENGE 2020 BETTING PREVIEW

The opening fixture of ICE Challenge 2020 will see ENCE and OG lock horns in Group B. The Finns will enter the bout as heavy favourites, yet all the spotlight will be on the newcomers to deliver and start their climb towards the first CS:GO LAN title in the organisation’s history.

ENCE enter the inaugural ICE Challenge tournament as the third favourites to go the distance and hoist the trophy. They had a fairly successful run in November when Aleksi “allu” Jalli and company pocketed silver at CS:GO Asia Championships 2019, but results since then have been less than impressive.

ENCE looked shaky in the group stage of the Champions Cup Finals in December, losing 7-16 to Movistar Riders in their opening game. They bounced back with a commanding 2-0 win over TYLOO and avenged their defeat against Riders in the decider match to reach the playoffs, but their inconsistency came to the fore in a narrow semi-final defeat to G2 Esports.

Earlier this month, ENCE made an appearance at the IEM XIV World Championship: European Qualifier. They edged past Illuminar Gaming in quarter-finals but lost to FaZe Clan in the next stage, which saw them tumble down to the lower bracket. There, they earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over AGO but suffered a crushing 0-2 defeat against MAD Lions, who booked their passage to IEM Katowice.

OG’s CS:GO esports squad formed at the start of December 2019, when the team acquired Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, Valdemar “valde” Bj?rn, Issa “ISSAA” Murad and Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski. This Wednesday, OG also signed Casper “ruggah” Due as their head coach.

OG have seen a fair amount of success thus far, although they have participated in only two tournaments to date.

In mid-December, OG made an appearance at cs_summit 5, where they started off strong with two wins against FURIA and MiBR and two stalemates against G2 and Virtus.pro in the group stage. They fell short in the semi-finals, however, copping a reverse sweep from eventual champions mousesports.

Earlier this month, OG made an appearance at IEM Katowice European Open Qualifiers #2. There, they defeated Defusekids (16-11) and SKADE (13-16) but failed to see the same success against AGO (10-16) – an underwhelming result, to say the least.

Neither team has made any notable roster moves in recent months, besides the signing of ruggah as OG’s new head coach. However, it is worth noting that OG’s current in-game leader, Aleksib, was previously an IGL of ENCE.

OG VS ENCE ICE CHALLENGE 2020 BETTING PREDICTIONS

The first thing that caught our attention in this match is the incredibly high odds on OG. We cant help but feel like some esports bookmakers have made a big mistake.

There are arguments to be made in favour of ENCE, namely the fact that their core has been playing together for almost two years. However, we cant overlook the fact that ENCE have been struggling since they removed Aleksib as their IGL.

Now Aleksib is at OG, which is a big advantage for the underdogs. They will know all the ins and outs of ENCE and how they operate.

We can’t miss out on this opportunity to back the outsider. This is Aleksib’s chance for redemption against a team that benched him and we can be sure he will construct a plan to make ENCE pay for their mistake.

FAZE VS NINJAS IN PYJAMAS BLAST PREMIER SERIES SPRING 2020 BETTING PREVIEW

FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pyjamas will clash this Friday, January 31 in the opening fixture of the brand new BLAST Premier Series. The event will see 12 of the best CS:GO esports teams from all over the globe compete for a place at the World Finals, similar to League of Legends and the road to the LoL World Championship.

FaZe enter the event as second-favourites to finish as the top seed in Group A due to the incredible firepower they possess, yet we have some concerns with the quality of their leadership. That matter will be put to the test in this best-of-three (Bo3) series.

Since this fixture will be the first competitive match for FaZe after the break, the only results we can take into consideration in this betting preview come from mid-December and early January.

In December, FaZe participated at BLAST Pro Series Global Finals 2019, where they lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas (0-2) in the semi-finals and Team Liquid (1-2) in round one of the lower bracket to finish the event in fourth place. They did, however, completely annihilate their upcoming opponents in the Pro Standoff (5-0), which only goes to show that FaZe are very deadly in 1v1 skirmishes.

About three weeks ago, FaZe also made an appearance at the IEM Katowice European qualifiers, where they made easy work of ARCY (2-0) and ENCE (2-1) to punch their ticket for the World Championship.

While Marcelo “coldzera” David and company played well in the win over ENCE, which was their last fixture, we were not too impressed with the performance of their trial member Helvijs “broky” Saukants. He started strong with a 1.26 rating in game one but fell off significantly in game two and three, where he averaged 0.76 and 0.61 ratings respectively.

Ninjas in Pyjamas did not participate at the IEM Katowice Euro qualifiers because they received a direct invite from the organisers, meaning their last appearance in a competitive CS:GO environment came at BLAST Pro Series Global Finals 2019.

The Swedes started strong at that event and completely dismembered FaZe in the semi-finals (16-13 and 16-7) but met their match in the upper bracket finals, where they lost to Astralis (0-2). That pushed saw them tumble down to the lower bracket, where they lost to Team Liquid (10-16 and 14-16) and thus finished the event with a bronze medal in their hands.

As mentioned above, Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson and his squad lost the Pro Standoff against FaZe. We would not put too much weight on that result, however, as the result of a side game should have little relevance when predicting an outcome of a Bo3 match.

Unlike FaZe, who have not made a single change to their roster since late-September when they signed broky on a trial basis, Ninjas in Pyjamas made some significant moves in their team earlier this month. At the start of January they parted ways with Faruk “pita” Pita and promoted Bj?rn “THREAT” Pers to the head coach position. The team also waved goodbye to their iconic player Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, who was replaced by Swedish AWPer Tim “nawwk” Jonasson.

FAZE CLAN VS NINJAS IN PYJAMAS BLAST PREMIER SPRING BETTING PREDICTIONS

Predicting the outcome of this fixture is harder than it looks. Not only have Ninjas in Pyjamas made some major changes, but the recent break means all the form and momentum the teams might have gained are gone.

FaZe and Ninjas in Pyjamas have met three times since BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen back in November. FaZe came out on top twice, while the teams split the difference in Bo3 fixtures.

Both teams have something going for them. FaZe have an advantage when it comes to raw firepower, while Ninjas in Pyjamas are better coached and boast stronger in-game leadership.

These teams historically match up nicely and produce close fixtures more often than not. This one could go either way, which is why we are backing the series to go the distance.

ESL Pro League Season 10 Europe enters its seventh day on Tuesday, October 15, which will also mark the second day of Group C fixtures featuring Astralis, Fnatic, North and Aristocracy.

Those four teams are competing for a ticket to the finals, where the top side will join Group A winners mousesports and Group B champions Heroic.

The teams that finish second and third will proceed to the second round, while the bottom side will pack their bags and head home.

Results so far:
Astralis 2-0 Aristocracy
Fnatic 2-0 North

Fnatic vs Aristocracy

Tuesday, October 15 – 17:25 BST

Fnatic (-500) are, alongside Astralis, one of the favourites to finish as the top seed in Group C, and rightfully so.

The Swedish outfit impressed everyone with their run at DreamHack Masters Malmo at the start of October, when they won their first tournament in over a year, indicating they are back and ready to compete at the highest level.

Fnatic opened the tournament on Monday with a win over North, where they got a chance to flex their muscles and earned a well-deserved clean sweep.

Aristocracy (+333) enter their second fixture of the group stage as heavy underdogs, which is fair when you consider they are objectively the weakest team of Group C.

Their first-up clash with Astralis went exactly as expected, with the Danish powerhouse securing comfortable victories on Vertigo (16-9) and Nuke (16-12) to produce a clean sweep.

On that day, Jacek “MINISE” Jeziak emerged as the best performing player in Aristocracy with a 1.12 HLTV Rating, whereas Karol “rallen” Rodowicz severely underperformed with a rating of 0.69.

Prediction:

Fnatic have better individual players, better leadership and ultimately more experience compared to the Polish outfit.

The map handicap is set at +1.5, making it very appealing to back Aristocracy to take at least one map off Fnatic, but all evidence suggests the favourites are a good chance of claiming a 2-0 sweep.

Astralis vs North

Tuesday, October 15 – 21:15 BST

As the odds suggest, Astralis (-833.33) are huge favourites to win their clash with North and we can’t argue with that.

It would be fair to say Astralis failed to impress at DreamHack Masters Malmo, where they were the outright favourites to claim the title but fell flat against Fnatic in the semi-finals.

While we can go and judge Astralis for their poor show against Fnatic in Malmo, it won’t change the fact the Danish juggernauts should breeze their second fixture in Group C.

North (+450) will enter the clash with a 0-1 record following a terrible defeat against Fnatic on Monday.

They have found themselves in a downward spiral and have now reached their all-time low in the CS:GO esports world rankings (no.18), which is miles from their top-10 position this summer.

From what they have shown, North lack the needed quality to stack up against Astralis. The fact they have only managed to defeat Astralis once in their last five meetings does not help their case.

Prediction:

If North performed better against Fnatic on Monday, we would consider backing them at the +1.5 map handicap, seeing how Astralis can be slightly inconsistent at times.

However, North looked very choppy against the Swedish outfit, which leads us to believe they are not ready to impress.

All things considered, we are confident Astralis can produce a clean sweep against North and build up some more momentum before they meet with Fnatic on Wednesday.

London Spitfire have announced they are parting ways with four of their members as a result of a disappointing performance at the Overwatch League S2 playoffs.

The inaugural Overwatch League champions endured an up-and-down sophomore season that began on a low note with a 3-4 record in the first stage.

The English outfit managed to bounce back in stage two with a much improved 6-1 record, only to disappoint once more with another 3-4 record in stage three.

A change of meta in stage four, which saw many teams struggle, helped London Spitfire earn a 4-3 record, which was just enough to earn them a spot in the top 12.

The Londoners grabbed the chance with both hands, edging past Shanghai Dragons (4-3) in the play-in stage to book a spot in the playoffs.

But Spitfire did not last long among the elite eight OWL teams, as they were crushed by NY Excelsior (1-4) in the quarter-finals and then again by eventual champions San Francisco Shock (0-4) in the first round of the losers’ bracket.

The fans and the organisation were not satisfied with what the former OWL champions produced this season, which resulted in the team’s decision to implement some drastic roster changes.

As revealed in their Twitter post on October 3, 2019, London Spitfire decided to part ways with star DPS Kim Birdring Ji-hyuk, alternate DPS Lee Guard Hee-dong and support Kim NUS Jong-seok.

They also said final goodbyes to their coach Kim JFeel Jeong-min, who announced earlier in the week that he was leaving to pursue other opportunities.

The departing trio of players should not have a tough time finding a new home, considering they are all well-established and respected players in the Overwatch esports world.

Guard was added to the roster ahead of the start of the second season as one of the best Sombra players in the world, and he lived up to the name, by playing a crucial role in London Spitfire’s stage two and three campaigns.

NUS established himself as one of the best supports in the world when he played a key role in London Spitfire’s title-winning run in 2018. However, he was forced to share the stage time with the newly acquired Song Quatermain Ji-hoon, which pushed him down the pecking order.

Birdring, who was alongside NUS one of the original members of Spitfire, is a player that needs no special introduction. Widely regarded as one of the best DPS in the league, the Hitscan specialist started to struggle in the new meta, which forced him to play heroes he was not comfortable with.

While losing three great players and an experienced coach, London Spitfire set to venture off into 2020 OWL season with a talented South Korean roster that is bound to leave a mark once more.

ESL UK posted a video on Twitter this Thursday to announce the return of the ESL Rainbow Six Premiership for the winter season, which is set to kick off in October 2019 in Manchester, Great Britain.

The competition returns to the north of England for the second time this year, as Manchester also hosted the finals of the spring season back in March.

The winter season is set to begin on October 16 with the group stage fixtures, which will utilise the same best-of-one (Bo1) round-robin format as the summer season.

Once all group games are concluded, the top two teams advance to the finals, teams placed third to sixth enter playoffs, and the bottom two teams head to relegations in a bid to qualify for next season.

In the playoffs, third plays sixth and fourth plays fifth in a best-of-three (Bo3) series where the two winners advance to the semi-finals and the two losers drop out.

The final four compete in a single-elimination Bo3 format, which is also used for the grand finals between the two top teams.

Ahead of ESL Rainbow Six Premiership Winter, organisers revealed the spring and summer runners-up, Team Secret, had decided to move on from the Premiership in an effort to compete internationally.

This leaves two-times champions Natus Vincere (formerly known as MnM) as the top dogs of the tournament and the favourites to claim the largest slice of a 20,000 prize pool.

Joining NaVi in their quest for the title will be Fierce Esports, ESSENCE, “Soon to be named” and “Looking for org”, with the final three teams to be decided via open qualifiers on Tuesday, September 24 and Saturday, September 28.

In a post made on the official website, ESL also revealed the qualification process for the spring 2020 season.

The promotion series, which will be held over four weeks, are set to start on Wednesday, November 6 and will act as direct qualifiers for the ESL Premiership.

Teams will compete in weekly cup tournaments, with points awarded to them based on their finishing position. Teams who end the qualification process ranked among the top four will be invited to the relegations, set to kick off on December 7, 2019.

From there, the top two teams in the relegations will join the top six teams from the 2019 winter season in the 2020 spring season.
