The LCK is actively in the group stage, with week 4 fixtures soon coming to an end. By the end of the week, every team will have played eight of their 18 group stage fixtures.

It has been an eventful summer split in Korea, as there have been some surprise results. Kwangdong Freecs handed T1 their first league loss in 2022, ending their 24-game winning streak.

Gen.G Esports have had a perfect run so far, winning all six games they have featured in. However, they will square off against T1 on July 8 in what is arguably the most anticipated League of Legends fixture in Korea this summer.

A win for T1 would hand Gen.G their first loss in the split. There is not much to separate both teams on several esports betting sites as T1 has a win odd of $1.99 despite Gen.G being the favourites at $1.83.

Brion Esports’ fate is all but settled, as they are yet to win a single series in seven outings. They have won only one map this summer, which came against Hanwha Life Esports, the ninth-placed team.

The top six teams after the group stage is played to a conclusion on August 14, will advance to the LCK playoffs. All playoff matches will follow a best-of-5 format, with the first-placed team getting the opportunity to choose their opponent from the first round. The LCK grand finals will be played on August 28.

Whoever emerges victorious after all is said and done will walk home with approximately $155,364 of the $291,307 prize pool. The winner also gets direct seeding to the 2022 LoL World Championship.
